ScanWatch 2 can detect episodes of irregular heart rhythm throughout the day and night, using a PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor that emits green light and measures its reflections on the blood vessels in the wrist. When the blood flows, the reflection of light changes. An exclusive algorithm analyzes the signal. If an irregular rhythm is detected, you will receive a notification.
You can see your irregular heart rhythm data on your Withings App, with your latest irregular heart rhythm data available on your Home tab.
Note: You cannot receive irregular heart rhythm episodes notifications if you haven’t enabled them beforehand. To activate them, please go to the Devices tab of your Withings App in the upper right, find your ScanWatch 2 > Health Features > Signs of AFib and toggle Monitor signs of Afib on.
