The BodyScan 2 features advanced 6-Zone Segmental Body Composition functionality. Learn more about it here.
Follow these steps to take a body composition measurement:
- Step on the scale barefoot and stand still.
-
Hold the handle with both hands and place your thumbs on each of the top buttons below the screen and do not move them.
Important: Body composition will not be measured if your thumbs are not positioned correctly on the handle.
-
Ensure your arms/hands are not touching your body (i.e. avoid skin-to-skin contact).
It is important to slightly lift your arms away from your body when weighing in.
For the most accurate body composition measurements, please follow these guidelines:
- Always perform a body composition measurement in the same conditions at the same time of day each day. This is because body composition results will vary during the day, due to factors such as the amount of water present in the body at any given time. Repeating this process allows you to track changes over time.
- As body composition measurements are affected by hydration, avoid eating or drinking up to 2 hours before taking a measurement.
- Wear a light undergarment when weighing in if needed to avoid skin-to-skin contact.
- Clean the scale (main body and handle) with warm water before stepping on it.
- Dry your body (especially hands and feet) before performing a measurement.
- Remove all rings/hand accessories before performing a measurement to make sure that no metal is touching the electrodes on the handle.
Note: Body composition is only available for people 16 years or older. Children and teenagers younger than 16 won't be able to access this feature.
