Scale doesn't measure body composition
If your scale doesn't measure body composition, please follow these steps:
- Make sure that you always use the handle when taking a measurement. Without the handle, a body composition measurement is not possible.
- Make sure that your name appears on the scale as you weigh in. If more than one user appears, select the correct one by leaning your weight left or right. If you are not recognized, please install your scale again.
- Make sure that impedance is activated on your scale. To do so, go to Devices > Body Scan > Modes > Weight-Only and make sure it is toggled off.
- Make sure that at least one body composition screen is activated on the scale's settings. To do so, go to Devices > Body Scan > Customize Screens.
- Make sure that your scale is clean.
Note:
- Overly dry or wet feet might prevent the body composition measurement. As such, we advise that you weigh yourself after a shower and lightly dry them off so that your skin is in its best condition for the measurement.
- Body composition is only available for people 18 years or older. Children and teenagers younger than 18 won't be able to access this feature.
- An excess of scar tissue may affect the accuracy of weight measurements
Scar tissue and its effect on measurements
An excess of scar tissue may affect the accuracy of weight measurements; however, it should not affect the accuracy of body composition for the following reasons:
- Scar tissue is made of collagen fibers, which do not have an impact on the impedance measurement.
- The electric signals used in a impedance measurements travel internally through the body, so they should not significantly affect measurement accuracy.
