In order to make sure your data is encrypted, you must update your Wireless Scale's firmware version to 901. To do this the scale must be configured for Wi-Fi use.

Firmware version 901 automatically enables HTTPS encryption on the scale which means all your data transmitted between our servers and the scale is encrypted. Firmware versions prior to 901 do not feature this HTTPS encryption feature.

If the scale is configured for Bluetooth use, you can reconfigure the scale for Wi-Fi use using the following steps:

1. Go into the bluetooth settings of your mobile device.
2. Forget your Wireless Scale.
3. Open your Withings App.
4. Select Devices and select your Wireless Scale from the list.
5. Select Update Wifi Configuration and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once the firmware has been updated, you can reconfigure it back to Bluetooth and the encryption will still apply.
