Note for Android users: As of Android 13 (or later), it is required to open the Withings App until the Live View starts before starting a Workout on your watch.
Do I need to enable GPS tracking to measure distance with ScanWatch 2?
GPS data make the distance, speed, and average speed measurements more precise but is not necessary.
Why do I need to have my location services always on?
We ask you to enable your location settings to offer you detailed activity data such as route and pace for automatically tracked workouts such as running - even when Withings App is not launched.
On iOS, this can be done by going to Withings App > Devices > ScanWatch 2 > All Settings > Workout > Workout with GPS and enabling selecting Always and Precise Location.
ScanWatch 2 and the Withings App access your location data when a distance-based outdoor workout is tracked. GPS tracking does not impact your smartphone’s battery life.
Note: The "Allow Location" notification message will be permanently visible in the Withings App if you don't authorize Withings App to access your location.
For which activities are connected GPS available?
ScanWatch 2 offers GPS tracking for all distance-based outdoor activities such as walking, running, biking, and canoeing.
