Disclaimer: The TempTech 24/7 temperature tracking technology is currently not designed to be used to diagnose fever or illness, therefore it will not reflect this on the temperature measurements in Withings App. For this we recommend the Withings Thermo.
As this cutting edge technology is very new, we are hoping to eventually expand on its capabilities and introduce more tools and features based on our patented temperature tracking technology in the future.
Body temperature is a crucial biomarker as it has the ability to impact various aspects of your health and can indicate potential signs of illness.
The TempTech 24/7 module is able to track body temperature 24/7, including overnight and during a workout. It is normal for your temperature to rise and fall at night as inflammatory responses are amplified to fight sickness or health problems. By following your temperature trends over the long term you can build better night time habits as well as stay on top of your fluctuations which may indicate the onset of an illness.
Your body temperature can change periodically while you work-out and so its important to stay on top of your data. Especially as heat exhaustion is a common problem in people over 65, with health conditions or those living in a hotter climate; Tracking your live exercise temperature shifts will help you stay informed, and prevent yourself from overheating which can benefit your performance & post-workout recovery.
To gain access to the Temperature screen on your ScanWatch 2, go to your Withings App and tap the Devices icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then go to ScanWatch 2 > Display Options > Customize Screens and pressing the green plus sign next to Body Temperature.
Calibrating your baseline temperature:
Body temperature readings are reliant on your baseline temperature. When you initially install your ScanWatch 2, your baseline temperature will be set at a standard value. However, this value will be refined and tailored to your individual physiology as you continue using your device — it will continue to gather more temperature measurements over the course of a few days.
When first wearing ScanWatch 2 the Temperature Module will take approximately 15 minutes to calibrate to your body temperature. If you remove the watch it may need to recalibrate when you put it back on. In this case, you may also notice irregular temperature readings for a few minutes after you take off the watch.

Viewing your body temperature reading on your watch:
On your ScanWatch 2 your temperature reading is activated by default, and is always shown as the last measurement in the menu. In order to view it at any time simply navigate the menu using the crown and you should see your instant temperature reading.
Temperature readings are displayed as positive or negative variations of your baseline temperature on the watch or in the app, as seen in the image above. Scanwatch 2 does not give you a numerical temperature reading.
Viewing your body temperature data in the Withings App:
In order to view your Body Temperature graph on the Withings App, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Withings App.
- Open the Measure Tab on the bottom menu.
- Tap Activity or any of the Activity Measurements listed already.
- Scroll down to find your Body Temperature Graph
Workout Temperature Zones:
With ScanWatch 2, optimizing your physical performance is made easier through the workout zones feature. You’ll get key insights into your body temperature as it changes. The 3 temperature zones have been carefully designated so you can understand and use them to support your well-being:
- Warm Up Zone: This is the lowest temperature zone, that’s optimal for preparing your body before starting your workout. Spending the first few minutes in this zone helps to raise your body temperature gradually, priming your muscles for optimal performance.
- Performance Zone: This zone is where you should stay for the majority of your workout. It provides ideal conditions for peak muscle performance, allowing you to workout efficiently and achieve better overall results.
- Overheating Zone: This zone should be avoided whenever possible. Exercising in this zone can have negative consequences related to overheating — muscle cramps, nausea, headaches, dizziness, confusion, or even loss of consciousness. Ensuring you stay clear of this zone is essential for your well-being while you workout.
If your body temperature reaches the overheating zone, you should immediately slow down your physical activity and allow your body temperature to return to a lower zone, ideally the performance zone or a normal body temperature for you.
The technology behind the Temperature module:
The ScanWatch 2 includes our TempTech24/7 module which consists of an optimized combination of 4 sensors (thermistor, heat flux, PPG, accelerometer), delivering 4 inputs ( heat flux, “skin” temperature, heart rate, actigraphy), powering an algorithm that delivers body temperature, along with a tailored in-app data visualization algorithm capable of body temperature baseline and notifications for the user.
At present we have no plans to pursue medical certification for our Temperature Tracking module. This feature and the sensors have been designed in such a way as to guarantee accurate measurement of variations of the body temperature baseline, so it is possible we may apply medical certification(s) on future features related to temperature for ScanWatch 2.
