Thanks to Apple Health, you can track your steps using your iOS device, either if you don't have a Withings tracker or if you've forgotten it at home.
Compatibility
To use in-app steps tracking, you must have an iOS device meeting the following requirements:
- iOS 8 or higher
- iPhone 5s or higher
Important: If you already enabled Apple Health sync with Health Mate and you wish to start the in-app steps tracking, please go to Apple Health > Sources > Health Mate and scroll to the very bottom of the page. Here, you can check that "Steps" is enabled (under the "Allow Health Mate to read data" category).
Note for new users: It is now possible to activate the Apple Health sharing through the Health Mate app during the account creation. If you don't activate it, the steps tracked by your iPhone won't be synced to Health Mate.
To activate the activity tracking, perform the following steps:
- Open the Health Mate app.
- Tap the Dashboard button (the second icon on the bottom bar).
- Tap Start tracking your activity.
Please note that you can also go directly to Profile (the last icon on the bottom bar), and follow those steps:
- Scroll down to the Apps category.
- Tap the Health icon.
- Select the data you want to share with Apple Health (including 'Steps' from the 'Allow Health Mate to read data' tab).
I've forgotten my Withings tracker. What should I do?
If your Withings account is already linked to Apple Health, you don't have anything to do. Your data is automatically transferred to the Health Mate app.
If your Withings account is not linked to Apple Health, you have to link your Withings account to Apple Health.
