Important: As of May 6, 2024, the Withings App will no longer be able to link to Google Fit. This is due to the recent update from Google which has unveiled that it is phasing out its Google Fit API in favor of the new Health Connect platform. The Google Fit API will continue to be supported until June 30, 2025. You can still benefit from the Google Fit service if your account is linked with the Withings App at the time of this notice. However, if you unlink the apps, the ability to re-link to Google Fit will be permanently removed from the Withings App. Please note that Customer Support for Google Fit issues will be limited during this period. More info to come shortly.
Overview
You can track your steps using your Android device and have that data sent to the Withings app thanks to an app link with either Google Fit or Samsung Health. This means that in the event that you are not using your Withings tracker, your phone will be able to track steps and send them to the app. You also do not require a Withings tracker to take advantage of your Android device's built-in step tracking capabilities.
To use this feature, you must have an Android device with Android 9 or above installed.
You will first need to establish a link between the partner app of your choice and the Withings app in order to have your Android device-tracked activity appear in the Withings app. Once this link is established, any steps tracked by your Android device will automatically sync with the Withings app if no activity has already been synced with a Withings tracker.
Important: If you do have a Withings tracker, the Withings app will prioritize whatever activity you have tracked with it over any activity you have tracked with your Android device.
