Important: As of May 6, 2024, the Withings App will no longer be able to link to Google Fit. This is due to the recent update from Google which has unveiled that it is phasing out its Google Fit API in favor of the new Health Connect platform. The Google Fit API will continue to be supported until June 30, 2025. You can still benefit from the Google Fit service if your account is linked with the Withings App at the time of this notice. However, if you unlink the apps, the ability to re-link to Google Fit will be permanently removed from the Withings App. Please note that Customer Support for Google Fit issues will be limited during this period. More info to come shortly.
The Withings App Android app allows you to link a Google Fit account. By linking your Google Fit and Withings accounts, you will be able to:
- Send your number of steps, weight data, heart rate and sleep times to Google Fit.
- Use the Google Fit in-app tracking feature if you don’t have a Withings activity tracker.
Note that the only data we collect from Google Fit is the number of steps and that these steps have to be detected by Google Fit itself. We cannot retrieve steps coming from another brand of trackers, even if they were synced with Google Fit.
Notes:
- If you have a Withings activity tracker installed, the Withings App will not display steps from Google Fit. In this case, steps will only be shown from your Withings activity tracker.
- You may need to activate the "Physical activity" permission to allow the import of steps from Google Fit. To do so, open the Withings App and go to Settings > Permissions > Physical activity > Allow.
If you notice any inconsistencies between the number of steps displayed in Google Fit and the number of steps displayed in the Withings App, we advise that you reach out to Google directly as the data is coming from them.
