What are Workouts?
Workouts are any duration of activity that is manually added (following the steps below) or automatically logged into the Withings app (via a Withings activity tracker or in-app step tracking). Please see our main article for more information.
Manually logging activities/Workouts
To manually add activities/workouts to the Withings App, perform the following steps:
- Open the Withings App.
- Tap + at the top right corner of the Home tab.
- Tap Workout.
- Select the activity/workout you want to add.
- On the next screen, enter the duration, start time and distance (if applicable), and move the Intensity slider to reflect how hard you've exercised.
Our algorithm automatically calculates the number of calories burned based on the intensity you've set and your personal information (gender, height, weight). - Tap the check mark in the upper right corner to save the workout.
- The workout will appear on the timeline of your Home tab.
You can also manually add a GPS workout from within the app:
Editing Workouts
You can edit activities/workouts that you've manually added or activities/workouts that were automatically detected (walking, running, swimming, and more).
To edit a manually logged activity/workout (i.e. anything added from the + menu), follow these steps:
- Open the Withings App.
- Select an activity/workout on the timeline of the Home tab.
- Swipe left and tap Edit, then once more to confirm.
- Change the details of your workout and tap the check mark in the upper right corner to save the changes.
You can also tap Reset to revert any current changes to the original data set.
To edit an automatically detected activity (such as your Daily Steps), follow these steps:
- Open the Withings App.
- Tap your activity/workout in the Home tab.
- Scroll down to the 'Workout' section and select a specific activity/workout.
- Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner.
- Tap Edit.
- Change the details of your workout and tap the check mark in the upper right corner to save the changes.
You can also tap Reset to revert any current changes to the original data set.
At this stage, editing detected running activities won't affect your stride length for your next running sessions. Do note that it will be the case in an upcoming version, allowing you to get more accurate data.
Important: You can only edit workouts that originate from a Withings device or the Withings app.
