Body Cardio - Frequently asked questions about safety
Should I use the Body Cardio if I wear a pacemaker?
No, you should not use the Body Cardio if you wear a pacemaker or other internal medical device. The Body Cardio circulates a small electrical signal in your body to perform some of its measurements such as fat mass, which may interfere with a pacemaker or other medical device.
Note: If you already own the Body Cardio and wish to keep it, you can use it as long as you disable the body fat measurements from the Dashboard. You can do so from the Health Mate app.
Should I use my scale while I am pregnant?
There are no known risks associated with pregnant women using Withings scales.
However, you cannot expect an accurate fat mass reading. Therefore, we recommend you disable the fat mass measurement. You can do so from the Health Mate app.
For more information about using the scale while pregnant, please read about Pregnancy Mode.
- Open the Health Mate app.
- Tap Devices.
- Tap Body Cardio.
- Deselect Fat mass measurement and heart rate measurement.
Note: When you deactivate the fat mass measurement, it is deactivated for all the users of all accounts that are linked to the scale.
