Health Connect is a new service developed by Google that acts as a central hub for health data from various platforms, including the Withings App. In May 2024, Google unveiled that it was phasing out its Google Fit API in favor of Health Connect.
Health Connect has now replaced Google Fit as the main supported Withings Partner "app" on Android. It is notable in that it is not technically an app but an SDK (Software Development Kit) and thus must be accessed via the Android device's Settings to adjust its settings.
To connect the Withings app to Health Connect so that data syncs with Health Connect :
-
Open the Withings app and select Profile.
-
Scroll down and tap the Health Connect logo under 'Apps'.
-
You will be prompted to enable syncing with Health Connect.
-
Tap Activate.
- Tap OK.
-
You will now be invited to choose which data you want to sync between the Withings app and Health Connect.
-
Toggle any data on or off that you want synced.
-
You will now have the confirmation that the connection between the Withings app and Health Connect is complete.
- Data will now be synced to and from Health Connect.
Note: Health Connect can be accessed via your Android device by going to Settings > Apps which will allow you to link and unlink it from other apps and adjust its settings.
