The BeamO's digital stethoscope is a medical device used to listen to internal body sounds, primarily the heart and lungs. It enables healthcare professionals to detect abnormalities in cardiac and respiratory functions, such as irregular heartbeats, murmurs, or abnormal lung sounds.
BeamO’s digital stethoscope utilizes a highly sensitive piezoelectric sensor to accurately capture and amplify heart and lung sounds in real-time. By analyzing these sounds, it can help the healthcare professional identify potential conditions such as heart valve disorders, arrhythmias, or respiratory issues.
Important: The recordings made by the stethoscope will not provide any analysis on the device or in the app. These recordings should be evaluated by a medical professional.
The ability to offer respiratory and cardiac sounds isolated from other body noises is made possible by AI that distinguishes them from the rest of the captured sounds. Respiratory and cardiac sounds are very rich and complex, and can lead to a wide range of diagnoses, from simple bronchitis to pulmonary arterial hypertension. This is why we primarily wanted to make these sounds easily shareable with a doctor through the Health Link feature.
BeamO has the ability to isolate and transmit these pure sounds directly to a physician, without the need for an in-person visit. We are also actively working on adding algorithms to detect abnormal sounds, to support even earlier and more automated detection of potential issues.
