ScanWatch Firmware 2941 – 9.29.25
Your ScanWatch has been improved!
This final firmware update 2941 for our beloved first-generation ScanWatch includes:
💤 Sleep feature updates
- Sleep night duration view on the watch: You are now able to check the duration of your last night's sleep directly on the watchface.
- New sleep/wake algorithm: For improved detection of sleep and awake time.
- Improved sleep algorithm parameters: Users with low HR during the night will see an improvement in their night detection.
🛌 Irregular heartbeat notification during the night (EU-only*)
- Your ScanWatch will be able to alert you in real time to irregular heartbeats (that could be signs of AFib) that occur while you sleep. When an irregular heartbeat is detected during rest, the watch will vibrate. See our article for more info on AFib detection (EU-only).
- As the feature is not enabled by default, you will need to activate it via the Withings App:
Go to Devices > ScanWatch > Health Features > Signs of AFib > Toggle "Receive notifications during the night."
Note: This feature is only available for the EU edition of ScanWatch.
💡Improved activity reminder notification
The ScanWatch will detect if you have already done a Workout for the day (30 minutes minimum), and will no longer send an activity reminder for that day.

In this new firmware update, say hello to…
Automatic resting heart-rate alerts 💕
Your ScanWatch is able to detect the moments when you are at rest. During those moments, it can also detect when your heart is significantly higher or lower than your average resting heart rate in order to alert you.
You will now be able to receive notifications based on your automatic HR thresholds computed by the App.
Choose your own notifications threshold or the automatic mode, which is customized to your average resting HR!
Bidirectional Synchronization⌛️
With bidirectional synchronization you will be able to more accurately track the steps you walk through the day: steps, calories, distance and elevation from all your watches and apps will now be synchronized.
Extra features 🥳
- Step goal notifications: your watch will now celebrate extraordinary events such as you when you reach twice, 3 times (or more) in one day your step goal, and also the number of days you reached it in a row.
- A long press on the watch crown after receiving a notification now leads directly to the Do not disturb setting on the watch.
- Various bug fixes and UI improvements.
We hope you enjoy the update!
ScanWatch Firmware 2421 – 4.6.22
What’s new
Your ScanWatch just got a load of new features! To get those features working, please update your Withings App to version 5.9.
In this new firmware update, say hello to…
Activity reminder 💪
A new type of notification on your watch will help you stay active throughout your day!
Go to your app settings and activate this feature to receive a notification whenever you have not been active during the last hour.
And don’t worry, we’ll never send a notification in the evening or if you have already reached your daily goal.
New hands behavior 🤓
The hands on your ScanWatch will position themselves to 10:10 when you press the dial to reveal the entire digital display screen in case the hands are covering part of it. Those who have the 42mm black ScanWatch model have already experienced this feature.
To activate or deactivate this feature, go to the watch settings. Press the crown to wake up the watch. Then turn the crown to the Settings screen and press the crown again to access the menu. Rotate the crown once more to scroll through the screens to Hands, and switch to ON or OFF with a short press.
Extra features 🥳
- A new screen was added at the beginning of each workout to remind you to tighten your wristband and adjust it to ensure the watch fits securely on your wrist.
- A time and date screen was added to the workout session screen when the hands are set to the 10:10 position.
We hope you enjoy the update!
ScanWatch Firmware 1751 – 10.25.20
Your ScanWatch just got better!
Your device has just been updated, and the latest operating system comes with new great features.
The following updates are only available if they are eligible in your region.
Breathing Disturbances graph
You now have the possibility to see your Breathing Disturbances throughout the night:
This graph shows the evolution of your Breathing Disturbances throughout the night, allowing you to spot when they occured. The color-coding helps you understand, at a glance, if you experienced low, moderate, or high Breathing Disturbances.
Remember to set your Respiratory Scan frequency to “automatic” or “always on” to get a Respiratory Scan to see this graph. Reminder: the expected battery life of the watch will be greatly impacted by this feature.
Automatic oxygen saturation measurement during sleep
You can now activate oxygen saturation reading during sleep as an option in the Withings App. Just look in your device settings.
When this option is activated, your ScanWatch will measure blood oxygen saturation periodically throughout the night, and will display the average at the end of the night. However, don’t worry if no result is displayed at the end of the night as ScanWatch needs at least 5 valid measurements during the night to compute the average. Before you go to bed, make sure you tighten your watch correctly.
A whole new onboarding design
The whole tutorial flow has been reviewed and revised to give you more clarity and understanding about all ScanWatch has to offer.
Always on workout screen
This new feature allows you to display the watch’s workout screen without it turning off. This means that you no longer have to push the button while exercising to see your data on the watch!
You can activate this option in the Withings App by accessing your device’s settings.
And many other improvements, including a heart rate algorithm improvement.
Hope you enjoy the updates!
