Disclaimers:
- This article applies only to users residing in the United States.
- FSA / HSA eligibility of our products is dependent on the terms and conditions at the retailer that sells the product. If you purchase a Withings Product from a third-party retailer, please be sure to consult their requirements.
In the US, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) let you set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified healthcare expenses. Eligibility rules can vary by plan or employer, so we recommend checking with your HSA or FSA provider before you buy. Withings provides a variety of FSA- and HSA-eligible products, such as blood pressure monitors, smartwatches, and scales.
Eligibility
Devices:
Most devices on the Withings webstore are HSA- or FSA-eligible.
Important: If the device is not listed on our Eligible Products page, then it is not eligible for FSA or HSA purchase.
Subscriptions:
Withings+ memberships are eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement, though they cannot be purchased directly with an HSA/FSA card on the Withings webstore.
To use your HSA or FSA funds for Withings+, follow these steps:
- Pay for your membership as normal through our webstore.
- Download your invoice from your profile.
- Submit your invoice to your HSA or FSA provider for reimbursement.
Note: This process applies to memberships bundled with a device purchase as well as recurring monthly or annual plans.
How to Use
You can use your HSA or FSA card directly on the Withings webstore, just like a standard credit
or debit card, by following these simple steps:
- Select your HSA/FSA card as your payment method.
- Ensure your cart contains only eligible devices.
- Confirm that your available balance covers the entire order amount, including shipping
and taxes.
Note: For card issues or balance inquiries, please contact your HSA or FSA provider directly.
Out-of-Pocket Reimbursements:
If you can't use your HSA or FSA card at checkout, you can pay with a standard credit or debit card and submit a reimbursement claim to your provider.
Authorized Retailers:
Some authorized retailers allow you to purchase Withings devices directly using an HSA or FSA card. Because eligibility policies vary by seller, please check with the retailer before completing your purchase. To claim reimbursement for a retail purchase, be sure to request a receipt directly from the retailer.
How to Submit a Reimbursement
If you paid out of pocket for an eligible Withings device or Withings+ membership, you can submit a reimbursement claim through your HSA or FSA provider. Before getting started, contact your provider to confirm that your purchase qualifies and to verify which documentation they require.
Important: Most FSA purchases generally must be made within your current plan year, though some plans offer a grace period. For specific plan rules or help filing, reach out to your provider directly.
Follow these steps to submit your reimbursement:
-
Gather your Information:
- Your receipt or invoice.
- Withings+ Membership receipts.
- Letter of Medical necessity (LMN) if required by your plan. -
Submit your claim:
- Log in to your HSA or FSA provider's online portal or mobile app.
- Complete the reimbursement claim form with your expense details.
- Upload your order confirmation or Withings+ invoice as proof of purchase.
Order and Payment Issues
Issues using your HSA/FSA Card:
HSA or FSA card payments can occasionally be declined, even if your account appears to have sufficient funds. If you are unsure of your available balance or your payment fails at checkout, you can complete your purchase using a regular credit or debit card and submit the receipt to your provider for reimbursement.
Insufficient Funds:
The Withings webstore doesn't support splitting payments between an HSA/FSA card and another payment method. Your HSA or FSA card balance must cover the full order amount, including taxes and shipping.
Gifting with HSA or FSA funds:
Under US federal law, HSA and FSA funds may only be used to purchase products for the account holder, their spouse, or their eligible tax dependents. Additionally, a gift recipient can't claim reimbursement for a Withings device purchased for them by someone else
Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
All refunds are automatically processed back to the original payment method. Due to federal tax regulations, purchases made with an HSA or FSA card must be refunded directly to that same account.
Note: Please note that refunds can only be issued to an HSA or FSA account that remains open and active.
