Calories are the energy your body needs to function; from keeping your heart beating to powering your workouts. Whether you're looking to lose, gain, or maintain weight, tracking your calories helps you stay aligned with your health goals. The Calories biomarker in the Withings app (which replaces the "food intake" metric) gives you a complete view of your daily energy balance.
Withings now makes it easy to track your food intake and see how it fits into your overall energy needs.
What you’ll see in the app:
The calories you’ve logged via MyFitnessPal, automatically synced:
Your daily calorie budget, calculated based on:
- What your body needs to function at rest (called BMR, or basal metabolic rate).
- Plus the extra calories you burn through activity like walking or exercising.
- How much you’ve eaten, and whether you’re in a surplus or deficit.
Note: Since your calorie needs change with your activity levels, your daily budget updates dynamically. On more active days, you’ll naturally need—and can eat—more.
