Preparing for an ECG Recording
Make sure you follow these guidelines before taking a recording:
- Ensure you are seated with elbows on the table and your feet flat on the floor.
- Don't speak or move during recording (especially your fingers).
- Ensure your fingers are clean but not overly dry. If you are unsure, we recommend you wash and gently dry your hands just before taking your recording.
- Ensure your hands and fingers are not too cold. If so, warm them by rubbing them together before taking your recording.
- Ensure your fingers are not scarred or calloused at the point of contact.
- Wait at least 10 minutes after waking up or working out before taking your recording.
- Ensure you and the BPM Vision are in the same ambient temperature for 10 minutes before taking your recording.
- Ensure you are at least 1.5 feet from any power outlets or large electronic devices (such as computers, tvs, etc).
- Should only be used on adults age 18 (EU) or 21 (US) or older.
How to take an ECG Recording
To take an ECG Recording, follow these steps:
- Turn on the device by pressing the On/Off button.
- Choose your user profile.
- Navigate to the ECG Icon.
- Rest your forefinger over the two sensor electrodes, as shown here:
- The recording will start automatically and last for 30 seconds.
- Too much or too little pressure on the electrodes can result in premature recording failure.
Note: Finger pressure must remain steady for the duration of the recording.
