Why is there no light under my right thumb?
The single optical PPG sensor used for SpO2 is located on the left side of the handle only, under your left thumb. This is by design.
It is therefore completely normal that:
- You only see light under your left thumb.
- There is no light under your right thumb.
SpO2 measurement failing or an inconclusive screen appears
This is most often caused by too much pressure on the sensor. To fix it:
- Apply less pressure on the handle and avoid holding it too tightly.
- Make sure your left thumb stays in steady contact with the optical sensor.
- Keep still and avoid talking during the scan.
