Every time you eat, sugar enters your blood. A hormone called insulin acts like a key, opening your cells so the sugar can move in to be used or stored. When this system runs smoothly, your blood sugar barely moves - and you never notice.
The Glucose Resilience score estimates your body's ability to maintain good metabolic balance over time. It doesn't directly measure your blood glucose, but assesses your metabolism's capacity to handle everyday glucose fluctuations.
What are the available Glucose Resilience scores?
Glucose Resilience can be measured on a four-step spectrum:
| 🟢 | Optimal | Your body manages glucose with ease. Keep up the habits that got you here. |
| 🔵 | Balanced | Your glucose handling is in a healthy range. Consistent habits keep you here. |
| 🟠 | Compensating | Your body is working harder than usual to keep blood sugar steady - an early, silent stage that standard tests can miss. Easing the load helps move you toward balance. |
| 🔴 | At Risk | Both signals point to reduced glucose resilience right now. The state is often reversible - and acting early is when change is most within reach. |
How is Glucose Resilience calculated?
Glucose Resilience combines 2 metrics measured during a Longevity Scan on your BodyScan 2:
Visceral Fat
This is the deep fat stored around your organs - the signal most closely tied to how your body handles glucose. It is measured from whole-body bioelectrical impedance.
| 🟢 | Good | Your visceral fat sits in a healthy range, which supports steady glucose handling. |
| 🟡 | High | Your visceral fat is above the healthy range. Regular movement and balanced meals can help bring it down. |
| 🟠 | Very High | A high level of visceral fat adds strain to how your body manages glucose. It’s also one of the most responsive signals - regular activity and balanced nutrition can help reduce it over time. |
| ⚪️ | No Data | Visceral fat comes from a 6-Zone Body Composition measurement. Hold the handle of your BodyScan 2 throughout your weigh-in to capture it. |

Nerve Response Score (NRS)
How well the small nerves that regulate your body are responding - one of the earliest signals of metabolic strain. It is measured from electrochemical skin conductance through your feet.
| 🟢 | Normal | Your sweat gland activity is within the normal range, suggesting healthy small nerve fibre function. Continue maintaining good overall health - stay active, eat well, stay hydrated, and keep up with regular checkups. |
| 🟠 | Low | Your sweat gland activity is lower than expected. This can be influenced by several factors, including age, blood sugar levels, stress, and certain medications. If your score is consistently low, consider sharing your Withings data with your doctor to discuss it further. |
| ⚪️ | Pending | Continue weighing-in as often as possible to get a predicted score*. |
*Nerve Response Score provides a predicted score throughout the month, but gives a final score at the end of the month.
