What is Body Comp and how does it differ from other Withings smart scales?
Body Comp’s new novel sensors, exclusive algorithms, patented electronics, and new multi-frequency BIA capabilities will provide improved precision for weight measurement and body composition metrics. It also has the capability to measure visceral fat, a more advanced body composition metric. Lastly, the Body Comp will also redefine body assessment by delivering additional proprietary health metrics such as Vascular Age and Electrodermal Activity Score (EDA).
Body Comp also comes exclusively packaged with a 12-month subscription to the new Withings+ service, an enhanced in-app experience and health improvement guide delivering in-depth biomarker analysis and daily missions.
Is Body Comp more precise than Body+ and Body Cardio?
Yes! We have renewed our iconic patented design, electronics and software to improve the precision of our new scale Body Comp to up to 50g (vs 100g for Body+ and Body Cardio).
Why are you launching Body Comp and Body Scan around the same time?
Body Comp and Body Scan are two different products. Launching them a few weeks apart won’t be a problem as we are addressing different users with different goals .
Body Comp as bundled with Withings+ is designed for people who want to know more than their weight and be guided to create a health routine to improve their health.
Body Scan is the first Withings connected health station announced at CES in January 2022. Body Scan is more than a scale as it includes a handle to enable a 6-lead ECG and provides users with a segmental body composition measurement (left & right arms, left & right legs, and torso). Where and when can I buy Body Comp?
Body Comp will only be available for purchase on withings.com . Sales will open on October 4th, 2022.
Withings+ is our new service that works in tandem with your data and follows behavior-changing science principles. It unlocks a new in-app health experience with access to cutting-edge metric access, in-depth analysis, daily engagement support, and exclusive content in the areas of sleep, nutrition and activity. Do you have to have a Body Comp scale to get Withings+?
At launch, Withings+ will only be made available to Body Comp users. Please note that Withings+ will only be unlocked after the Body Comp is installed to your account.
What happens after a year with my Withings+ subscription?
12 months of Withings+ are included with the scale at launch. After this period, you can renew your subscription and keep your access to missions, in-depth analysis, and more; otherwise, you can continue using Body Comp and access your health metrics synced to the Withings App.
How much is the Withings+ subscription? We will offer users who purchased the Body Comp | Withings+ bundle to continue accessing all of the features for €9.95 / $9.95 per month.
Can I buy the scale without Withings+?
Body Comp can only be purchased with Withings+ at the moment.
Can I share Body Comp and Withings+ with my family?
Body Comp can be used by and even recognize up to 8 users. Once they are set up, your family can benefit from both the scale's features and the exclusive Withings+ advantages.
Are the features/measurements of Body Comp independent of Withings+? If not, which features/measurements are only available with Withings+?
If Body Comp is not used with a Withings+ subscription, the Electrodermal Activity Score, Vascular Age and Standing Heart Rate feature will be available in their ‘freemium’ version. Users will have access to the recording of the measurement, as they have purchased the product hardware, but any additional features linked to those metrics in-app are part of Withings+ and will not be accessible without subscription.
How can Withings+ modules around sleep be effective if Body Comp does not measure sleep?
One of the features unlocked with Withings+ is Sleep Logging. Users will be able to manually log how long they have slept and how they are feeling after a night. For users who are tracking their sleep with another connected device compatible with Withings App or with a Withings device, the data will be computed and analyzed by Withings+ to show progress.
Is Body Comp a medical product in Europe? Why did the Nerve Health Score become Electrodermal Activity Score? Body Comp is currently a wellness product in Europe. As soon as we receive CE medical clearance for Body Comp, the product will be enriched with new features and analysis available. Because of this, the Nerve Health Score is not be available at launch. It is replaced by EDA (Electrodermal Activity Score), a strictly wellness metric measuring sweat gland activity in the feet. Read more about EDA here .

What is the Vascular Age feature?
Vascular Age monitors the age of arteries to give a clearer picture of your heart’s health. If your Vascular Age is assessed as significantly greater than your chronological age, you may be more at risk for vascular diseases later in life.
What is "Advanced" Body Composition?
Body Comp can monitor weight (kg, lb, st lb), BMI, and also uses multi-frequency BIA to obtain whole body composition (whole body fat, muscle mass, water percentage, bone mass, and visceral fat).
It is the fat stored deep inside the belly. Visceral fat can be associated with chronic health conditions. Body Comp provides you with an easy-to-read index to monitor visceral fat level.*This metric will be available shortly after launch. Thank you for your patience.
When will visceral fat be available? To ensure the best experience possible for our users, we will make Visceral fat measurement available in the coming weeks.
Is Wi-Fi better than Bluetooth?
Thanks to Wi-Fi, no phone is needed on you or nearby to track all your measurements to the app. It's magic. Wi-Fi is also how you get a daily local weather report every time you step on. Bluetooth is used for setup and as a backup when there is no Wi-Fi.
What are the requirements for using Body Comp?
Users with pacemakers will not be able to access all features, as bioimpedance technology (BIA) is used. For these users, body composition and nerve activity assessments will be deactivated.
How precise is the scale? Measurements are precise up to 0.1 lbs (.05 kg) — the best ever achieved on a Withings scale to date.
How long is the battery life?
Body Comp will operate under regular use for 18 months with three standard AAA alkaline batteries (included).
