As a follow up to my previous comment.  WITHINGS customer service was very supportive.  The question asked is if there had been any impact or damage to the watch and inherently there had been none.  After providing the proof of purchase (sold on AMAZON by AMAZON), it was identified the watch had a hardware issue thus defective. I was given instructions to request a replacement noting Amazon would honor the 2 year warranty.  The instructions only sent me in circles on Amazon so I connected to an Amazon customer service agent via chat. It took a bit of convincing this was a WARRANTY event vs. a simple RETURN event.  Amazon would not do a replacement but initiated a return and refund less a restocking fee as it was past their 30 day return policy.  Post returning the defective watch AND ordering/receiving the new watch, I was issued a credit for the restocking fee.  A few hoops to jump through but hopefully sharing this will alleviate frustration for others.

I have had this problem. I sent a photo when requested and no response for a couple of weeks. From the number of posts in the forum about this problem without any solution or explanation being offered, it is obvious that the product is defective.
Unless my watchmaker can fix this, I will probably have to buy another brand. Its a shame the support line is not helpful. 🤨

I had problem with the back coming off and controls not working.  Fortunately it was within the one year warranty period and Withings replaced the watch promptly.
