    Hello everyone,

Thank you for your messages. I'm sorry to hear that the back cases of your ScanWatch are open.

@Catherine: I appreciate the photo and information you’ve provided. So we can check the best options available, please send us an email or chat at http://within.gs/help.

@nadbudge and @diipankar: Likewise, I’d like to invite you guys to contact our support team at http://within.gs/help and include a picture of your watches showing the back case. Let us know how it occurred as well.

@carodrn: Sorry to know about what you’ve experienced. We don’t ship directly to Australia but the reseller where you bought the watch can replace it for you if it's still within warranty.

    Thanks for your cooperation,

The same has happened with my Scanwatch, less than two months old, for no apparent reason.

Well, some funky stuff going on here!

I bought the watch through an Amazon link to the Withings Shop.

Even though Withings states that it is replaceable under Warranty, they won't send me a new one as they don't ship to Australia!

So, they let you buy one via Amazon but WILL NOT honour a Warranty claim.

There are better watches than theirs around now at a lesser price and with world wide Warranties.

    Shame on you Withings!

Mine also has a loose back after 30 months. In Norway we ha 5 years mandatory right to complain, but it’s likely to be slow. I think I will prefer to just glue it back on. Everything works fine, and by the time the battery is dead, there’ll be a new better model out! But what kind of glue to use? So far I have just tightened the strap, I believe that makes it almost sealed, but it needs charging frequently, so I need to find a way to glue it, that preferably is sealed and makes it water proof again. I will recommend only buying from a reseller with high standards of service, and maybe also add insurance if possible.

I am also in Australia, the back of my watch has come apart, my watch is only 14 months old and it is not working.
I am pedantic and know that this is not through misuse or not following care instructions.
It appears this is a manufacturing flaw.
What actions/recourse do I need to do please?

I had the same issue. Feels like Withings used the wrong kind of adhesive for these watches. It's like the adhesive loosens up from the warmth of our wrists, which isn't supposed to happen.

I used to repair items like these. A smartwatch or smartphone had to be heated at 60-80c for 20 minutes in a special oven, to make the adhesive soft enough so it could be cut through.

Anyway I didn't feel like sending it over for repairs just because the back cover came loose so I used some glue to put it back and actually 'waterproof' it myself. If anyone wants to know, I used Zhalinda E for this.

Today, my Withings watch’s back plate come apart - like so many others have experienced. I had a heart attack two years a go and as a result, friends gave me this watch to monitor my ongoing recovery and as a means to support my family with the anxiety in relation to a further heart attack.
Surely there should be a solution to this problem? Any advice?

Selbst kleben!

Same here. The back just came loose. It's just under two years old. Not used for anything extreme, and never used in the shower.

It is totally unacceptable for a watch with this price tag to have a glued backplate! I am so shocked with withings, which I recommended for so many friends.

I have also just had this happen on my scanwatch. I’ve worn Withings watches for years, and use the scales daily too. I’ve recommended to so many of my family, friends and colleagues. It’s out of warranty now. So incredibly disappointed 😞

My back just got detached too. I got it as a gift back in November 2021. I don't think smartwatches backs should come detached for any reason if they are treated carefully like mine was. Furthermore, I have smartwatches dating back several years with no such issue. I think Withings should do the right thing and repair these watches, even if they are out of the warranty period. I really like the look and functionality of the watch, but honestly I'm so disappointed as to how they are handling this.

Same here. Looks like a design fault. Logged a ticket with Withings. Will wait and see outcome. This is my second Scanwatch. Replaced free of charge out of warranty for not charging.
