    Thanks for the review.

I just installed the new version (5.14). For me that explore button goes into the right direction, but it is far of the usability of the old and beloved versions. And as you mention, it still snaps into week, month, etc. and still no comparison of weight to fat ...

I'm agree, the explore button is a step in the good direction but there is still a lot to do.

In the next iteration they can try to put all the charts together again, in the next show all interesting data in the first main chart... and some versions later tadaaa they reinvented the 5.11 version.

In short: The closer to 5.11 the better xD

So basically there's a lot off work they have to do and it's going to take a very long time to get it at 5.11,5.12 expectations and value, am still seeing very large fonts for all the heading which is very ugly ☹️.

Hi, how can I check the version?   I love my scales but very disappointed with the app.  I’m using it on an iPad Air, and constantly having to kill the app as there is no way of navigating out of screens.   Hoping it’s just a problem related to this current version, but upgrades are expected to be just that.

The App Store for Apple still has 5.13. How can I get 5.14? When will it be officially released if it indeed isn’t available? Not to pile on but I hate 5.13 so much. Shockingly bad. Hard to believe anyone could think that was a good idea. Please revert back to 5.12.

To check beta versions (in iOS) you have to sign up as a beta tester using Test Flight. It's the Apple official system to test beta versions, and it's really simple

Withings shared this link some time ago:

After that you will have a new icon that allows you to get versions and change to some previous versions (5.12 is not there.. I've triple checked xD)

Hope it helps! For android I have no idea how it works

And yes I hate 5.13 too and 5.14...
It's really annoying every day I open the app.

I'm only using week and month view with all the difficulties that offers the new chart. Year and all view are, for now, totally useless.

I don't understand how a company with large experience like Withings doesn't know how the users uses their own app

The updated and reconfigured app is so poor and borderline useless. I've use the origin app for years, which was great. The new app is over engineered and is very poor at easily accessing daily trackable and comparative data.

Who ever tested and authorised the rollout of these huge and devaluing reconfigurations should be fired.

The beta versions are the same garbage they rolled out with 5.13.x, same crappy graphs, duplicate entries being created every day, incorrect dates for data entered, missed dates in the graphs, sporadic syncing with partner apps, etc. and Withings doesn’t seem to care.

I've just tried the 5.14 beta version on Android.

I have to say that I am rather with Withings for not listening its users as the graphs adopted in the 5.13 will remain, but they somehow managed to make it even worse.

In the version I could try (the last update was released on March 6th), the averaged line is the new design and they simple added all measures in a light grey line. However, the design is simple not great as the averaged line is not smoothed and can end up completely off the measures if your weight vary bit more than a few grams. In my case, I had a big weight increase and decrease last year (end of 2021 to Q3 2022). If I zoom out the average line is simple not following the rise and decrease as it just stays flat bellow the bell, especially around the "peak". In other words, the average line was not accurately showing the trend. My guess is that the average calculation is "too aggressive" (taking too much historical data), thus, this issue gets bigger the more you zoom out.

With the 5.12 version, whether I zoom in or out, the averaged line is consistently following the data and, as its name indicates, smoothing it out the date to show a trend, regardless the time frame. It may be slightly off when the weight increases/decreases "too fast", however, it remains close to the data and shows a more accurate trend.

Another major problem (to me), consist in the scale used in the graph. In the 5.12 version, the scale was rather big leading to "smaller oscillations" between measures. In my beta version, the scale is much smaller making it unreadable if the weight changes only through the weeks/months as the app will try to fill the entire screen with the lines. If I had to to describe it, it looks like an earthquake graph.

Other things I've noted so far are:

    - still no smoothed average/trend slopes for the other measures (fat, muscle, bones, etc.)

    - measures other than weight are actually blended in the same graph and impossible to isolate (as it is in the 5.13 version)

    - need to tap two times on the weight data to show the combination of historical data + trend line. Why not displaying both immediately as it was in the 5.12 version?

I truly hope that Withings will roll back to the old graphs. I do not mind the new graph organisation (fat, muscle, etc. in one graph with the possibility to isolate each metric) and the new color scheme, but the way how data was displayed in the 5.12 versions and earlier was simply superior to what 5.13 and the 5.14 beta currently offer.

I tried out the 5.14.0 (5140014) version released on March 6th, with a s23 ultra, running android 13.

It is beyond frustrating that we are 3 months or so since the disastrous changes to this app that people have overwhelmingly hated and it sounds like only a little bit of the previous functionality is going to be added back and only as an additional mode you can click to see. PUT IT BACK AS IT WAS AS DEFAULT!!! Then add a preference for the over simple, much less functional new mode for the graphs for whomever may like that mess.

JUST REVERT TO THE OLD APP ENTIRELY if you can't fix the new app and give back the functionality we had. That these changes were made at all leaves me with low confidence anyone with any ability to do anything has a clue about what is good or bad about this app. That 3 months later, after overwhelming outrage they are trying to fix this catastrophe in small measures that don't give us back most of what's been lost is incredibly disappointing. The beta option is not available for Android. So I can't try 5.14, but the way it's described it won't solve my issues anyway.

Make the graphs highly configurable!! Give us MORE control over how we can see our data than we had before, NOT LESS! When feedback is hugely negative don't take 3 months to make small changes to give a small amount of our old experience back!

Someone in charge is clearly not seeing the forest for the the trees and is trying to pretend the changes made weren't disastrous. They seem to think small changes to give small bits of what we had before as a new add on feature rather than making a fundamental change back to the old graph functionality as part of the default way of working is going to solve this problem while being able to pretend this huge mistake was still a good way forward. They are WRONG. Simpler isn't better EVER if major functionality is lost.

I blame Apple. They keep making things over simple and then the rest of the UI industry follows them blindly while having even less vision, talent, resources so software and interfaces world wide are getting dumbed down left and right and things just work less and less. But everything is really pretty to look at! Worthless!! But look how simple and pretty! Looks fantastic is marketing material even if it's actually just trash.

PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT BETTER! I am so close to buying another brand scale right now!!!

@busidyl maybe it will be better to put this opinion to his new official post about 5.14 version.

Thanks, I noticed today I have 5.14 now and all my anticipated comments about it as still spot on after actually try it.

"Explore data" is pointless as it is. Doesn't come close to fixing the problem but does indicate they still don't understand the problem, or don't care about fixing it, or don't have the ability to fix it.
