Hello everyone,
Thank you for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear that your experience with the Body Scan hasn't met your expectations, especially after your long-term use of our Body+ model, and that the fat percentage readings are significantly different from your trusted Body+ and recent DEXA scan results.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our products, and we recognize the importance of consistency, particularly when it comes to health metrics. We've taken similar feedback in this post.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to assisting you further and hope to continue supporting your health goals with our products.
Warm regards,
Lyn, Withings Customer Service
I am seeing a similar error. I had a DEXA scan done last year in May and the Withings Body Cardio scale was 5.6% lower.
I upgraded to the Withings Body Scan scale thinking it would be better. But my cousin just had a DEXA scan yesterday and his Withings Body Scan scale was lower by 5.5%. I’m going to get another DEXA scan done next month to do another comparison.
But it looks like the Withings algorithm for calculating body fat percentage is flawed. User calibration would be a nice feature, but why wouldn’t they just fix the algorithm if everyone knows it is wrong?

Agreed. Same thing here. I turned athlete mode off and it’s better but still about 2-3% lower than it should be.

My Body Scan indicates that all the fat is in my legs and arms, but my legs are thin and tiny! The scale says I have little fat mass in my belly/torso, But, when I look at my body in the mirror my torso is HUGE! I have a lot of belly fat and as well as fat in my breasts. The scale is confusing. I don't understand this scale. I have 1 week left to return it. I might do that. Plus the app is beyond difficult to use. I am a UX designer and I cannot find my way through this awful app.
I miss my old Withngs scale that was a bit more basic.
