Hello @anja.dolnicar,
Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear about the short battery duration you are experiencing on your Body+. I appreciate the details you shared. Please check the battery compartment to ensure battery contacts aren't damaged, dirty, or rusty. If the contacts are dirty or rusty, please clean them using a lint-free cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol.
If any of the battery contacts are damaged, please reach out to us at https://bit.ly/3o1D9t4 and provide us with a photo of the battery compartment so that the damage is visible. However, if that battery contacts are in good condition, please perform a factory reset on your scale.
To reset the scale to factory settings:
1) Please go to the Bluetooth settings of your mobile device and locate the Body scale which may show up as Body XX. Select the gear or 'i' icon to the right of it, depending on your mobile device, and you will have the option to 'forget' or remove the scale.
2) Dissociate the scale from your account by opening the Withings app and going to 'My devices' -> Your scale -> 'Dissociate from my account'
3) Hold the button on the bottom of the scale for 8 seconds and then release it
4) A menu will appear with an arrow and three options: mac, upgrade, reset
5) Tap the button on the bottom of the scale until the arrow is on 'reset'
6) The scale will now reset and will be ready to be configured
I hope I was able to help you. If the situation persists, you can reach out to us via https://bit.ly/3o1D9t4. Please inform customer support that you've already followed the instructions given in this Forum post.
Have a great day.

If the problem was dirty contacts the batteries would not run down because they wouldn't be providing any current. I have had 2 and they both failed in the same way. I tested the batteries themselves both times. Must be a defect in the scales. Perhaps not really turning off after each use.

Same I had only problems with that scale. Cannot use it! After batteries was no weight not showing and now flicking arrows that what ever position arrow never stop flicking. No help to contact
What should I do?

Same situation. The reviews on Amazon don't show this issue except for one reviewer. The flowery 5-star reviews are clearly planted. I followed instructions to the letter, installed the app, and turned it on. Voila! It worked as advertised. A week later I got on the scale...nothing. There is no "on" button... it just sits on the bathroom floor of my kids' bathroom (they're all gone...I'm an empty nester so there is ZERO traffic in that bathroom). I replaced the batteries thinking I may have put in dud batteries. Worked as advertised! A week later, hopped on... nothing...blank screen. I tried one more time but this time bought batteries directly from the store to the scale. Put em in, turned it on... voila! A week later... black screen. Their reply to Josephine's complaint on this string are laughable @ "check the terminals and clean them if they're dirty...and if that doesn't work, check the batteries"... There is something wrong with the engineering of this thing and something sinister about their ability to suppress negative comments about it. Why not just fix it? Replacing it won't do anything but perpetuate an engineering flaw. Sad that Apple allowed them to hitch their wagon to them.

I have 2 different Withings scales and they both eat batteries like crazy. I thought the old scale did it because it was at least 5 years old, but I have had my new Withings Body scale for less than a month and it says I have 2% battery life left. Just shameful the products eat batteries like this.

I've had mine 2 months and it has gone through two sets of batteries. I am looking at returning it to the store next week.

I have recently started having the same issue - I didn't believe it at first as I put in new batteries and it semi started to reset and then it won't connect and the app acts like the batteries are dead again and I think in the 2 hours of me trying to get it to work, it has drained the second NEW set of batteries ... and like other people I put new batteries in this in November. I think a software update has broken this scale. I am going to buy a different product as I can't get any customer service from anywhere - this forum is the only venue and that is unacceptable. The chat option is total bullshit - the bot is worthless and the human never shows up. What a waste of time - as I said, I won't give Withings anymore money without any customer support.

Facing this issue too. At first I thought it was because o the batteries being rechargeable. Bought new rechargeable batteries, still the same. Bought alkaline batteries, still the same.
Did the reset, was told to put new batteries. After one night (8hours) lost 10% of battery life. I can’t be constantly buying new batteries, not because of the money, but because of the waste.
Asked for a discount code, got a 15% discount for a new scale, but at this point will just buy something else.for half price.
Support said I would get a chat transcript, but did not get it. My ticket number is there somewhere.

I have the same issue! I just bought the scale in Aug 2025 and the batteries maybe last 1 week-ish. This is extremely frustrating, the scale isn't cheap!!!

Same here. I haven’t had problems for years. But now I need to change the f… batteries on a daily basis.
I performed the reset a couple of times. Nothing has changed.

I have the same problem as well. Why don't they offer a replacement to all these people that are having problems. I have a youtube with 2k followers and I will be advising them not to purchase thes scale for the time being until this problem is resolved.
