Hi, this same experience a few weeks ago. After a series of app updates, the battery life of my scanwatch went from roughly four weeks to two days. It reminds me of the class-action lawsuit after Apple was caught throttling its IPhone batteries. It also strikes me that if Withings has purposefully reduced the battery life on its scanwatches to encourage purpose of a newer model, this is an unethical business practice that at very least the public should be made aware of in comments to the Withings app (and ratings). Personally, rather than being provided with a 25% discount on a scanwatch2 I would prefer to have Withings replace the scanwatch I have. In terms of a marketing cost/benefit ratio, I travel a lot and have until now been happy to provide glowing recommendations to prospective customers in four continents. i did a lot of research before buying my scanwatch. The overnight change in battery life is really disappointing and would very much appear to be related to Withings app updates. I would appreciate a prompt reply to my comments from the Company.

    Hello everyone,

Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear that your ScanWatch’s battery life has drastically decreased after recent app updates.

The good news is that the reported battery drain issue caused by the app update has already been resolved. However, several factors can still affect your watch’s battery life. You can find more information on how to optimize battery performance here.

If you continue to experience problems, please don’t hesitate to contact us for further assistance at https://bit.ly/3Lg5tPL.

    Have a nice day,

Lyn, this issue is NOT fixed.  I have the same struggles with battery life that countless other users have posted.  It is now November 13, 2024 and this has NOT been fixed.  Please address this issue asap.  If I continue to have the same experience I will never buy a Withings product again, which is sad because this is the fourth ScanWatch I've purchased over the last 5 years (I bought them for my wife and child as well).

I wish to also submit my complaint about the Scanwatch drawing down to about 36 percent battery power overnight. Nothing helps. Seems like a bait and switch to me. They promise up to 30 days and you can't even get 30 hours out of this beautiful but defective watch. Not a happy camper...

My Scanwatch is at 100% when I go to bed and by morning it is down to 33% +-. I am extremely disappointed. The watch looks great but doesn't live up to expectations. This is the last Withings product I will ever buy. Even the customer service stinks. Excuses, excuses,  Promises, promises...

All I can say is that it's still not fixed for me either and when I contacted support I got the same stock response from them. This was my last Withings purchase.

I have new battery problems scanwatch1 also. This feels just like earlier maybe year ago and they fix that problem then (BUT IT'S BACK AGAIN!!!). Battery last now only less than one week (earlier it has been 3 weeks). They have change something and now clock drain battery again. I was thinking to buy scanwatch2 but not anymore.

I always update my scanwatch1 to latest firmware. And it’s still lasting 3+ weeks. Check your settings. I only get the most urgent notifications, and none from apps (excepts my payment app). Using it to run twice a week. No auto brightness, and not constantly monitoring my heart for heart issues. Hope this helps a bit.

Everyone is having the same battery drain issue. I have 2 watches, and one (older) lasts 20 days while the other lasts only a few. I think Withings is very well aware but will NOT do anything about it. The only solution I can see is to leave the appropriate (negative) comments on the various e-commerce sites until this issue is properly addressed.

I opened multiple complaints, also while the watch was under warranty, and they refused to do anything about it. Going for negative publicity on amazon and other sites is the only way of making the customer’s voice heard.

Glad to see some were able to get warranty replacements, but unfortunately I am not one of them.  I have a Horizon which was sold with a 5 year warranty, so still have a year left in warranty.   Using the Withings app to download my data, I did some reporting from the raw_hr_hr.csv file.  The file includes heart rate scans, which happen at least once every 10 mins.  The assumption made was when there was a long period with no scans, that meant the watch was charging.  In 2024, the mean time between charges was 26.23 days.  In 2026 the meantime between charging is 10.47 days (with a std deviation of 7.42 days).  When working with Withing support, with all features turned off except for notifications, A full 100% to 0% took 10 days which is consistent with what I reported.  That is the first time I have ever let it go down to 0%.  Support said "We pay particular attention when the battery lasts less than 5 days, which prompts a thorough investigation before reaching any conclusions."

If you want to do something similar, here's a prompt that could be helpful.

Analyze the attached raw_hr_hr.csv file from a smartwatch. The file contains heart-rate measurements collected on a regular schedule. Assume that extended gaps in heart-rate recordings indicate the watch was being charged due to a low battery. Identify recharge events by detecting gaps longer than 2 hours between consecutive heart-rate measurements. Calculate, by year:

    • Number of estimated recharge events
    • Average days between recharge events
    • Standard deviation of days between recharge events
    • Variance of days between recharge events
    • Percent change in average days between recharge events from year to year

Determine whether the frequency of recharge events increased over time and whether the data supports a conclusion that battery performance degraded significantly. Explain the results in plain language suitable for a warranty claim.
