Hey everyone. I have an old WBS01 that died on me just about a year ago. It would show a checkmark when turning on, then the screen would go blank (still on; just blank). I spent a couple of hours trying everything I could find on the internet to revive it, and nothing worked. So I bought a new scale.
Well the batteries got low on my new scale, and it got stuck in a “Setup - Setup Failed” loop after replacing them. Again, hours of troubleshooting and nothing was working. I finally tried holding the button on the bottom while inserting the batteries, and it broke out of the cycle and proceeded to let me actually set it up!
So I thought, I wonder if that will get my old scale running again. I put in new batteries, confirmed that it was still non functional, and then tried removing a battery and holding reset when putting it back in. Sure enough, it broke out of the cycle! Oddly, the display was upside down, but it was reading weight. Support articles told me to remove the batteries for 30 seconds to fix that, and it worked. I now have 2 working scales!
Just wanted to share this in case it helps anyone. I held the button down for a while after putting the batteries back in. I am not sure how long, basically until I saw something “different” on the screen. No more than 15 seconds though.
If your scale won’t turn on/reset/connect, try this!
