Whitings app or health mate?

In support I see references to withings app, formerly call health mate, but on Google play I only see health mate. And with health mate I can't seem to get data connected to Android Health Connect properly. As I go through the set-up for HelathConnect it seems to skip the step to actually activate and the app icon has a red exclamation point by it instead of a green check box. Am I using the right app? Is there something wrong with Health Connect activate? What I'm trying to do in the end is get data transferred to google fit app which I'm hoping Hwalth Connect will do.
