I recently added the Sleep Analyzer to my sleep monitoring setup for apnea detection (I have asthma and OSAS risk), but I'm struggling with getting proper readings despite trying different placements.
My current sleep tracking setup:
- Apple Watch Ultra 2 (worn nightly)
- Oura Ring Gen 3 (worn nightly)
- Newly purchased Withings Sleep Analyzer
My sleeping environment:
- Queen bed shared with my girlfriend (and occasionally our 10-month-old daughter)
- Bed configuration: wooden slats → mattress → topper
What I've tried:
-
First placement: Slats → Mattress → Topper → Sleep Analyzer → Me
Results: Woke with back pain + inconsistent tracking (data gaps) -
Current placement: Slats (with cardboard covering gaps) → Sleep Analyzer → Mattress → Topper → Me
Results: Sleep duration tracks correctly, but apnea detection section remains completely empty despite sleeping 5+ hours
I specifically purchased the Sleep Analyzer for apnea monitoring, so I'm concerned about the missing data.
Has anyone with a similar setup found the optimal placement for reliable apnea detection?
Does sharing the bed affect readings? Any suggestions from other users with topped mattresses?
Thank you for your expertise!
