Remove it from the phone bluetooth menu.

I suspect the icon is not a battery icon but the Bluetooth icon, they look similar. Had the same problem and re-pairing it to my phone fixed it

Hi - I raised a support ticket with Withings and followed the instructions  they suggested and all is working fine again.

    This is what they suggested:

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your Steel HR. I'm sorry to hear that your watch is currently you are unable to set up your watch. I'll be happy to assist.

To resolve this issue, you will need to 'forget' the Steel HR from the list of Bluetooth devices and then attempt the installation again. If you have previously installed the watch on another mobile device that is nearby, please forget the watch on that device, too.

To do this from an Android device:

    • Go to the 'Settings' of your mobile device and select 'Bluetooth'

    • Locate 'W Steel HR 2D' in the list of devices

    • Select the small icon to the right and select the option to 'Forget' the device

Please power off your mobile device and then power it back on.

You can now install the watch. You can find instructions on how to configure your Steel HR here.

Be sure that the Steel HR remains next to your mobile device, and that you do not exit the Health Mate app until the installation is complete. If you receive a call during the installation, this may cause it to fail in which case you will need to start the process again.

Note: If the display of the Steel HR is off while the app is searching for the watch during the installation, press the button on the watch to activate its display.

Withings just helped me. Switch off your iphone and switched it on again. do not connect on the bluetooth but install your watch on the healthmate application first. That is how my issue was solved today.

This does not make sense... how can you install the watch on the healthmate app without bluetooth??  My watch is just happy to flash 'X' and the bluetooth icon -  essentially it is dead
