I have been using the BPM connect for two weeks. This is a replacement for the prior version, which I finally gave up on - because it would read 10 to 20% over doctor's office testing. The old unit reads 134/84, this new unit reads on the same day, 154/117. My doctor did three checks - the highest of which was 124/80.
Has anyone had high readings like this and been able to have it corrected so the device gives readings that are in the same general range as manual readings by a health professional? I can take +/- 5% if the errors are in a standard normal distribution. But my errors are all high.

The "before" reading in the doctors office was 124/80. I then checked it using the Withings BPM connect device. it is set for 3x testing. The result was 174/113. I then had the doctor recheck my blood pressure. That second reading was 126/80. This morning the BPM connect 3x test was 172/104. I did a second test 10 minutes later and that was 153/90. My resting heart rate for the first was 71 and was 70 for the second. The standard deviation of the error rate (from your documents) is 7.46 mmHg for systolic and 5.85 for diastolic. My doctor's office blood pressure is consistently 115 to 130 for systolic and 75 to 84 for diastolic. If we the average of the two systolic measurements from the BPM connect, 163.5, and then we take a two deviation range - plus or minus 7.46 x 2 - that suggests that with 95% confidence, my actual systolic blood pressure is between 149 and 178. With 99% confidence, we can say it is between 134 and 193 (plus or minus three standard deviations). The statistical likelihood of getting six accurate readings that average to 163.5 and getting two readings that average to 125 from a different method with the same accuracy as the BPM connect is basically zero. In fact, the standard deviation for manual sphygmomanometers is more like 4mmHg. Ironically, I bought this unit to replace the 2015 version (the BPM) because that unit was testing 10 to 15% higher that the doctor's office. If i were to take this new device at face value, my blood pressure has gone from an average of about 138/88 to somewhere around 160/100.I would like to send this unit to you for testing and/or re-calibration. -
I am having the exact same issues with mine and the variance is also consistent with yours. Mine was also measuring 15 points on systolic and diastolic when compared to Dr’s office. We had the same result when testing the device on another person. Sadly I was put on meds in large part to the daily readings I was providing the doctor prior to surgery. During the surgery my blood pressure dropped dangerously low and I was kept in critical care to recover from the low blood pressure during surgery. I am torn about using the device because I don’t know what to trust.

I have the exact same issue: that being that my doctor's checks (two over a 20-minute span) were 126/80 and 130/80. The BPM Connect is showing 150-170/100 on average. I have sent a note via the Contact Us link to ask them to send me a replacement since it's under warranty. What a bummer as I really like the machine.

Out of the box, I‘ve had the same issue 189-119. I’m almost dead according to these readings. Also, with proper use, the cuff tightens too hard to the point it almost bruised my wife. I felt the pain but the velcro started to pop open before it determined it had a good read.
Since there is no way to recalibrate, I need Customer Support to provide the instructions to return and receive a full refund.
I am used to high quality products by Withings. This one looks nice but made poorly. Any of the Withings BPM products should have a way to recalibrate.
Thanks. -
Follow up. First, the Withings support folks have been incredibly polite and somewhat responsive. after doing a factory reset and reinstall, it seems closer to what i expect. The readings are still higher than the ones that i get in my Doctors office, but at least they are down to 140/90 instead of 170/100.
with that said, I have to agree with the other users: it is difficult to trust the information I am getting from the device when it seems to be consistently higher than what I get when it is tested by a medical professional.

Same!! My readings are more than 20 points higher with the Withings device than any other device! This is really dangerous because during COVID when we couldn't have in-person visits, my Dr was relying on my readings to get my dosing right - and the whole time my BP was actually 20 points lower than we thought! Finally brought the device into the Dr office with me, and she took 2 readings with her own devices, and one with my Withings, and proved the Withings device is completely inaccurate. Can't believe they can sell this garbage as a reliable health care device!
