Has anyone with a low resting heart rate had success with the BPM Connect? When I first got the BPM Connect it seemed to be working fine. But now the device only reports an "Error 205."
I suspect the problem may be a low resting heart rate. When I first started using it, I was recovering from an injury and had not trained for months. My resting heart rate was in the 40s. Now that I've been training consistently, my resting heart rate has dropped to the mid 30s, and that drop has coincided with the BPM Connect errors. In fact, the BPM Connect was working so long as the heart rate it reported was above 40. As an experiment, I have tried the device immediately after vigorous exercise. In that case it did report a measurement rather than an error, but, of course, that's not really a valid blood pressure measurement.
It appears that the algorithm isn't designed to work with a resting heart rate below 40.
Is my BPM Connect now just an expensive paper weight?
Here's the successful readings. Notice that the stop when the heart rate reaches 41.
And here's what I see since then.
