The trend line is really cool feature and yes, the dark blue line is the average while the lighter one is the individual measurements. I spent a lot of time analyzing my trend line and I found out that the calculation depends on the filter. You can contact their tech guys about it to find more: https://within.gs/help.

but anyone knows the formula for the trendline. Good question from drblkjk.

What i see is a different trendline between the IOS app and the website dashboard. Should be the same when filtering to the same period.

It looks like, between the different platforms, a different formula is used. IOS shows a smoother line.

    anyone knows why?

This is a simple question that has a simple answer.  I posted this question 7 months ago and the simple answer has not been provided.  Does anyone from the manufacture's team read these posts?

nope, if you spend any time in this forum, you will soon find that you will not find a single post by moderators or staffers - just a meeting place of people with questions and no answers.

The only hope is to send an email - they will respond but you need luck to get a competent answer there too.

No idea why they don't moderate the board to answer questions like this for all to see and reduce helpdesk email.

I have an emailed response on this questions to share:

"While we are unable to divulge what our exact algorithm is for the Weight Trend on our app, I can say that this number does not represent a strict weight progression, but rather your average weight loss between measurements. It’s based on the average of your different weights added during the week. You can use it as a reference for your main weight graph, as it shows your average evolution, instead of showing your exact measures.

I know that it can be quite confusing since there is no precise explanation of this number in the app. That is why I wanted you to know that our developers are working on improving the clarity of the weight widget in the Timeline in general."

What the use of a graph with a secret meaning is, that remains Withing's secret too...let's hope for the promised improved clarity.
