Have you tried contacting them about your concern? I don't think the watch does have GPS and the GPS tracking is based on your mobile phones built-in GPS tracker. I suggest you contact them directly at https://within.gs/help  so they can explain it further to you.

yep. but three different phone with a faulty gps? I don't think so. Furthermore I have a cheaper activity tracker and it worked as a charm with the first two phones. When I reached the support they refused to change my watch (which is understandable bc I believe this behavior is related to the app itself) and forwarded my issue to the dev team. so there is a bug or something. but I think the occurrence is so small, maybe it's on the end of the bugfix line. All in all I am disappointed in this brand, because without proper training measurement what I have is a good looking watch with an unreliable tracker, a step counter (which can be inaccurate as well but who cares), an unpredictable notification sender. battery life is good at least. I am angry a bit bc these issues I think related to software development not hw, so it can be fixed. But a new model has to be released every year, to make customers buy stuff. No thanks.

I´m having the same issue as you. I´ve been looking for solutions but i havent found one yet.

I started the workout on my watch and it showed me that bluetooth connection is there. I was walking 29 minutes and it showed me 14km. However in reality measured with "Bayernatlas" a website from Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home. Where it showed me 1.6 km. Furthermore i corrected the distance in the Healthmate app. But this doesnt sync. with the website. I followed the guide for GPS tracking. There must be a way to detect that going 1km in 4 seconds isnt legit. I currently have a Oneplus 6t with Android 10. I can share photos because they may be useful to fix this really annoying software bug.

In all the forums i where, i´ve read that withings support is really bad. I hope this post gets attention because it shouldnt be that hard to fix this "bug" as i would call it, especially with all this data we can give them.

I hope for the best because i really do like the Steel Hr Sport.

PS: im missing steps of the workout in the app, a "timer", or a stopwatch function and changing spm(schläge pro minute, also called beats per minute in english to be changed to bpm in german).

Furthermore spm could be used for further information troughout the workout and after finishing it. Standing for steps per minute

Stay Strong we´ll fix this :D

Hi, I know it's wierd but I am glad that I'm not alone with this problem. I just got back home from my latest running sesh in a square shaped running track. Here's what the watch (or the app to be clear) measured:

I don't know if I should laugh or cry about it.

Idk who marked this thread as 'Answered', but no, it's not. Interesting interpretation of a support forum.

Here's is another perfect example of this watch amazing accuracy, even under superhuman circumstances:
walking over the Danube river with 75 km/h. Godspeed.

I think we have all bought expensive products that look good, but don't do the job in any sense.  In reading all of these entries, it looks like they only want to sell a product, not support a product.  That's too bad, because they had the potential to have loyal customers.

I just want to know where to find a watch/tracker that has good support...or is this what every manufacturer is doing...they sell it and then want you to buy a new one every time.

Hi Cindirelly, my concern is that they didnt even try to fix the known issues. (or they're just very bad at it) the watch itself is sleek, the app as well, but cmon do t put out a product what is not capable of doing what you've advertised. that simple. I don't want to recommend you any company, bc basically new brands/models coming out every week/month. When I buy stg new, first I check couple of reliable test page, visit the review section of an online shop (amazon, etc), and most importantly checking the forum of the product or its predecessor. I skipped the last part when I purchased this watch, and it was on sale anyways. they put out the sapphire glass series so they dropped the proce of the normal hr series I think. all in all I prefer a company who is interested in keeping the loyal customers with reasonable amount of product updates, and their support is supportive, not just a millstone where angry customers ventillate just like this.
