If activity tracking has been optimised for left-hand wearing or I have to wear them on my right hand.

I play badminton quite a lot. So let's put step tracking aside cause that's basic even for the phone to track. Badminton involves my RIGHT hand to move around more than my left hand on which I wear my watch. I noticed that activities that are normally automatically tracked do not get accurate results even when I automatically double press to record the activity. Like they don't automatically show which activity I performed.
For this case, badminton, does it require me to wear my watch in my right hand for it to automatically detect the activity and record more accurately parameters like steps, duration and KCal?
