Same here. I've just emailed support about it as I'm concerned the button will eventually stop working. Watch is only 8 months old, so concerned that this has happened already

I think I also experienced that before and I just rinsed the watch with warm water and the watch starts working again. You can try it or maybe contact them directly at https://within.gs/help so they can check your watch.

My side button is also stuck now but is still working. I’ve had it for about 8 months, as well. I have tried rinsing it and that worked for a couple more presses but is stuck again

Same issue here- Side button on the first watch was stuck after 8months. I got a replacement and it’s been 9months and it is happening again. I just emailed customer service for options. I think this is a design defect.

Yup, same issue. The side button is more or less permanently stuck, it starts working for a day or two and then gets stuck again.

Hi I’ve got the same issues, the side button is becoming increasingly difficult to press. Did anyone get a resolution to the issues / response from support?

I had similar...  trick was to wash the watch and get the button presses a lot under water.  Fixed it for some months and then was getting stiffer again.

That I’ll give that a go. I’ve also got in touch with customer support so will see what they come back and say.

Same here. After about 6 month of use, it started to be harder to pres. After 8 to 9 month, it does not respond to press anymore. I will try the water trick.

Careful with the water trick. The maintenance page says to not press the button underwater.

I did it once thinking it would work, but nothing. It’s still works, but it’s stuck. Luckily, no water damage either.

On my SHRS (16 months in use) the side button does work (I can see a response on the screen when pressed) however it does not provide any tactile feedback, which makes it difficult to operate when when biking or driving. I did try all the tricks (rinse, full reset, firmware update) but the issue persists. Seeing the side button problem is somewhat frequent on the Sport HR I think they should offer a replacement or at least a hefty discount to a new one.

EDIT: Withings decided to replace my SHRS; since I bought it thru Amazon the swap was easy. Let's see if it the 'new' one will suffer from the same issue. Big shout to Antonette and Aubrey from client support!

It's sad that Withings seems to commonly have this button problem.  My button started getting stuck just after the 1-year warranty expired.  I put up with it for about 8-10 more months and found if I flicked the button it would sometimes pop back out and I could still use the watch.

It was very annoying, but now the button has stopped responding to presses completely, though I can see it in the phone app or put it on the charger and the screen comes on.  The button doesn't do anything now and have tried rinsing and other things.

I know many types of buttons are rated for hundreds of thousands or even millions of presses on many quality devices.  But it seems like they're using buttons that fail after a few thousand presses or else something is seriously wrong with their design or quality control.

This was a nice product while it lasted, I guess.  I even paid extra for the Sapphire HR with the more durable sapphire glass which still looks beautiful and scratch free.  Too bad the button failure makes it unusable and I can't control anything from the watch.
