I have had the Health Mate app installed on my iOS devices since 2014. Yesterday (July 7, 2020), I opened the Health Mate app on my iPhone and the top notification within the app was the following:
"Your Body Cardio has low battery. Less than 20% remaining"
In response to this in-app notification I plugged a USB cable into the Body Cardio and saw that the battery was lower than 20%. It was 0%. It took some hours, but battery finally climbed back to 100%.
My question is this...
Why didn't I receive this low battery notification outside of the app -- on my home screen in the iOS notifications section -- on either my iPhone or my iPad? Looking at the lack of weight readings in the Health Mate history, I can conclude that the battery was dead for a month yet no notification of low battery was sent to me during that time.
I expect my Withings devices to just keep working. My Aura doesn't run on batteries so I just expect it to continue doing its job -- tracking my sleep -- without me having to check on whether it it working or not. Similarly I expect that my Body Cardio will continue to track my weight without me having to check on whether it it working or not. I would like my Aura and Body Cardio to happily hum along accumulating my sleep and weight data, and then when I am curious as to my progress I will check the Health Mate app to see what the trends are. But the weight trend tracking was interrupted for an entire month by a battery drain -- and no notification was sent to me! Please Withings, have Health Mate send me important notifications to my iOS home screen when a battery issue exists. Or send me an email. I can't act on information I don't have. Thank you for your attention in this regard.
