Nothing useful from Withings support. They suggested re-installing the HealthMate app and/or trying a different phone.
Now, the issue is, I think, that the app doesn't actually store "Other" activities. If I stop the activity using the app, or do it on the watch while the app is in the foreground on my phone, the app brings up a prompt to select a 'real' activity to record instead of "Other" - see the frame from a video I shot for the support:
The issue is, when the phone is away and/or the app is not in the foreground, the prompt never appears and the activity is lost. Someone hasn't thought the workflow through. The app should record the "Other" activity and then allow editing if the user so desires.
For now, the only workaround seems to be to end the activity from the phone or to enter it manually afterward. :(

I'm having the same issue. Seems like a glaring oversight in testing, I wonder if they even use their own products?
I saw it suggested in another post on this topic to use the "Fitness" activity instead, which tracks similarly to "Other" but doesn't have this issue. Makes me question, what's the point of the "Other" activity, if it makes you select an activity in order to save it?

I've also been experiencing this issue for a number of months. I've tried reinstalling my watch which hasn't worked and the previous workaround of manually ending the workout via the app has now ineffective with the workout disappearing after saving. Being able to initiate tracking of other activities via your watch was a really great feature, which now seems to have been removed yet the option is still there on the watch. Has anyone had any joy with remedying?
Withings - is this issue going to be sorted? My steel HR is no longer the fitness tracker it used to be!
I have a Steel HR connected with the android Healthmate app. Since the last update, if I start an activity as 'other' on my watch, the app will recognise that the activity has started and is in progress, but when I stop the activity on my watch it disappears from the app and cannot be found on my timeline, or anywhere within the app. Previously I was able to find these activities on my timeline and edit them to the correct activity type. Is this a bug in the software? Or am I misunderstanding how I should use the 'other' feature? This is a replicable problem - another Steel HR user has been able to reproduce the issue.
Thanks for your help.
