Hi.  Sorry, but I've no idea whether it might be the battery.  When mine died after about five months, the app told me the battery was dying and that the watch had gone into low function mode, i.e. no ECG available and no alarms.  It still counted steps and told the time.

If you are replacing the battery, or having someone else do it, ensure that a very high quality battery is used.  These watches appear to be very fussy about the battery, and many people have had total irrecoverable failures after a battery change.  I did it myself, as I have the tool required for replacing the watch back (a kind of press tool with nylon shaped fittings for the watch and back).  I used a Duracell battery as I could not easily obtain any of the brands suggested on the Withings web site.

Hi Ian, many thanks for your reply.

Well, I have a Duracell battery coming today and I have previously opened the watch to try and reset it by removing the battery for a few minutes so....I guess I'll report back on whether it fixed it.

I wish there was a battery level indicator on the app.   I am a little concerned that I didn't get any notifications about low battery levels or reduced functionality but based on what you said, it seems to be just that....reduced functionalities.

    We'll see shortly I guess.

    Happy day!

It was just a dying battery.

No idea why the app didn't notify me or highlighted that the watch had been set to low power mode (like some people reported online) but hey...I'm not complaining since the watch works and is not broken.

Happy day indeed.  Much as I love the appearance and function of my MoveECG (I have paroxysmal AF) I have been sadly disappointed by several factors.  The weakness of the 'crystal' as a watch glass is termed.  The lower than advertised battery life. The difficulty making my step target as it only starts recording when it detects walking as an 'activity', i.e. after a certain time or distance.  The confusion of 'activities' such as pushing a push lawnmower recorded as cycling, as is pushing a pram or pushchair.  The disappearance of support immediately the pandemic started, and the pretty poor support before that.

Sadly the crystal on mine is now so scratched and cloudy that I have been considering finding a watch repairer that might be able to substitute some other manufacturer's product to replace it

    Glad yours is working again.

I feel for you and I know what you mean.

That's why I cancelled my pre-order of the new Scanwatch.  I know they upgraded the glass to full crystal, look bigger, better and more functions but if you can't trust you have your back covered by decent support it become difficult to invest even more money into it.

I wouldn't attempt the watchmaker route to replace the cover on your Move watch though; I suspect they had to go plastic on it to create a non-conductive layer around the crown (which is used for the ECG measurement).    Just pure speculation on my part though.

Yet again dying battery but no low battery message. ECG tracing now working again after much frustration. Had to get the first one replaced- took weeks- don’t think I would get another if this one packs up. Enough to give one A fib!!

I have finally given up on mine.  The battery I fitted in May died on me, and I made a mess of trying to fit another and broke the plastic face.  I've gone back to my Kardia which still works, and a Fitbit on my wrist.

I loved the Withings for appearance and ease of use, but the quality just isn't there.
