As per the other notifications thread, got nowhere with the help articles but did a factory reset of the watch and
deleted the app, then re installed app and re-connected. It now works!
Not too much effort and if you make sure that the latest data from the watch is uploaded first they you'll lose nothing.
My watch has stopped reviving notifications
