Sleep nights are wrongly labelled

I think this is a matter of definition. Technically, a day starts at 12 midnight. If most of your sleeping hours are in that day (eg in the AM) one might rightly decide that is the ‘name’ of the night? Perhaps this could be a setting the user decides on at setup?

I agree it is a matter of definition. A definition defined by convention, however.

Today is Sunday, tonight is Sunday night, last night was Saturday night.

I know of no-one that would refer to last night as Sunday night. Do you? ...other than Withings. And that, I suspect is unintentional.

Withings by the way have agreed with me are looking into it... But I suspect it won't be easy to resolve, if they even bother.

    We'll see.
