I have a ScanWatch, I pay for a Strava subscription, and I use the integration between the two. I am finding the way the data syncs unhelpful and I am not getting the most out of either product. Is this something that will be updated or am I just using it wrong?
If I start a workout on my ScanWatch, later on (sometimes hours later) my run data will sync to Strava with HR analysis and everything I want to see. However, starting a workout this way means I can't use Strava features that I pay for while I am running e.g. I can't send a beacon text.
If I start a run manually in the Strava app, I can use all of the in-run features. I can see the route, listen to audio queues and send out a beacon text. However, this option means that my HR data does not sync with this run and instead syncs separately, as a second run. I end up with a run in Strava with my GPS, pace etc. and another run with nothing but HR data and no way of merging the two.
If I start a workout on my ScanWatch AND start a run on Strava at the same time, the same happens - I end up with two runs on Strava. One with GPS information and one with HR data.
All of this makes my Strava subscription a bit pointless, but I pay for it because I like the features it offers... so I'm a bit stuck now. I wonder if anyone else has this problem? Could this be fixed if we could manually push our HR information to a Strava run? Or if I am just using the products completely wrong?
