I am having the same problem. Have you found a solution? The data does not go to the app. It seems like it should be immediate.

It did when I connected my phone to the device via bluetooth, but I took it again today and its not connected again.

I only got it to record if I sync my phone each time I took a BP. This does not seem reight

Mine is doing the same thing. I had to manually enter my data.

I took some readings while away from my phone. When I brought the BP Connect near my phone again, I mistakenly thought that it would sync up those readings to my phone without having to take another reading. This does not appear to be the case. I had to take another reading in the presence of my phone and then the older values came through in the sync.

So I don't think this device sync's at any time other than when you take a reading.

    I hope this helps.

By the way, do any actual Withings employees ever frequent these forum posts? I don't seem to see any in the posts. I guess it's just a user self-help forum?

Same problem here too. Supposedly it stores 6 readings, I assume to sync them when it is near the phone. Does not seem to be the case.

I have some information that I received from Withings Tech Support that I think may be of some value here in understanding how the BPM synch's (or doesn't).

When you take a reading with the BPM Connect, that is the moment in time in which it will try to sync the reading to your phone or online account. If you are not near a Wifi connection that is set up in your BPM Connect - AND - not near your phone, it will not sync.

So, the next time you take a reading, if you are then near your Wifi location set up in your BPM Connect or if your phone is near the BPM connect and you paired it with the Blutooth in your phone, it will sync then and also bring in the past reading.

The BPM connect will use either method to sync if it can. However, if it fails to do so, it won't try to sync again until you take another reading. So, just having it near your phone or playing with the App in your phone will not cause it to sync.

This additional information was helpful to me in understanding how it sync's when it sync's.

This came from the tech support people too:

"It's up to you as to what connection you want to use but to explain it further, if you use Wi-Fi syncing, the data will transfer from device > server > Health mate Web > app."

"If you use Bluetooth syncing, the transfer of data is from device > app > Health Mate Web > server. Technically, they have the same purpose but you can use any of these two."

So, I hope this helps you as it has helped me. I have a better understanding of how it works now.

Thanks to Withings Tech Support too.

Thank you for the reply Jerry. That did indeed work. I was wondering how the syncing was taking place. This information should have been in the manual.

How do you switch from WiFi syncing to Bluetooth syncing?

I solved my problem by re-running the WiFi Configuration from within the App, and telling it "I don't have WiFi".  Evidently this makes the device use Bluetooth.  After this, when I took a measurement it immediately showed up in the app.

The only problem with the Bluetooth configuration is that you have to have your phone nearby when you measure you blood pressure. If your phone is not around, or off, that measurement is lost.

WiFi reports your BP online and then it syncs with your phone whenever you run the app, even if it is days after.

If it was syncing with the app quickly I would probably stick that way.  I have just upgraded from the old BMP that you plugged into your phone so I don't mind having the phone nearby.

@tellsp "If your phone is not around, or off, that measurement is lost."

Just from my own experience, I have not found this to be the case. I can't assert how many readings are retained in the BPM but it does appear to me it retains a few readings. I was at my doctor's office and took a reading but was not near Wifi. It did not sync the reading. Later I took a couple more readings where it did not sync by Wifi. Finally, later on, I decided to turn off the Wifi and just use Bluetooth and when I did that, all the readings including the past ones did synch to my phone. So, I "think" it still retains old readings even if you are just using the Bluetooth method. Hope this helps.
