WS-50 draining power

The WS-50 is draining its power source in hours. Used to go for months before. I already disabled “Send debug data” (Healthmate app-> Devices-> All Settings -> turn “Send Debug Data” off) but it didn’t solve the issue. Software version is “1721” . A similar topic is marked as “answered” elsewhere but there is no answer.

    They never answered the question. The battery drain is caused by a bad firmware update, but they won't fix it. There are several other threads about this same issue, but Withings just marks it 'answered' and tells users to buy a new scale. See if they tell you the same.

    In another thread someone reported that customer service told them to do a factory reset but had the wrong instructions. I followed the instructions here ( https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1203499/Withings-Ws-50.html#page=55 ) and it solved the battery drain issue. I had to try several times for the two button press to start factory reset. Not sure why they didn’t address these threads going on a year.

    Battery drain for me too. And the scales will just turn themselves on. I can be in the shower, or using the toilet and I see them light up
