    Hello! I did the exact same thing and now my wife can't create an account either. I reached out to tech support just now, but haven't heard back yet. Did you end up getting this resolved?

    Nope. Haven't heard anything from them and still not resolved...super frustrating

    I got a reply back from support, pointing me here:

    It seemed like it would work, and my wife got an email to confirm and create an account. When she went to submit that form, there was just an error message saying "Internal error. Please try again".

    My wife and I are having the same finding, up until being able to make her account independent, my wife receiving the e-mail, trying to create a account ending in 'Internal Error'.

    Please let me/us know how to resolve this. I am happy with the new scale but so should my wife.

    Like the initial poster already noted it is counterintuitive that you add a family member and that does not result in an invitation for that family member right away. That is how many of the other family oriented services seem to work from my experience.

    Ya, this process is a disaster. Only reason to seperate my wife is to track her pregnancy weight. Since this isn't an option as an added user.

    I finally got everything resolved, but the process was annoying.

    1. Remove any accounts or shares that use the other person's email.
    2. Create a new profile that uses a new/temporary email address (yes, this is annoying---I created one just for this purpose).
    3. Follow the independent user process linked to above, and use the new/temp email.
    4. Wait 7 days for the old email to cycle out. They can use the app just fine during this period.
    5. They change their email back to their actual address and confirm. All good.
