I have the white one and can read it fine. But when it's dark it's dark. Then I have to turn on the screen

When you turn on the small oled display is it enough to shed some light on the rest of the watch face?

I'm afraid I can't see anything with that black background and the glare on the crystal!

If your white display is 25-30% easier to read I'll have to change to white as I don't want to abandon the watch - early days but I like it a lot.

A real shame that display is a deal-breaker for me.

When I turn on the screen I can tell the time by the screen anyways? But yes if the screen is on everything is lit in there. It's like glowing? I don't know but I could easily tell the time by that. Do you want a picture?

Yes please, that would be awesome! Will make it very easy for me to request a swap with a white than having to return the watch for a refund.

In my case, when it's absolutely dark and I light up the display I can only see the small display and nothing else. The rest of the watch face is pitch black!

So these three are with full brightness:

And this one with auto brightness (but it's pitch black so I assume it's on the lowest level):

I have to say that my camera is not that good and in the last picture I could tell the time but the activity dail was not visible like in the picture. But I keep my screen on 100% at all times anyways

oh dear, that's an awful lot of difference!

I think I'll have to request a return for a white one.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello, Tristan again.

May I ask, what is the colour of the hands of your Scanwatch?

I can find photos where the hands are white and others with black ones. I'm talking about the white 42mm variant...

I'm very confused. Black is obviously much better as they increase contrast.

What is the colour of the hands of the white 42mm after all?

Black? I've never seen any with black ones. With white one neither to be honest.

Mine are silver/chrome as you can see in these images:

Unless silver hands look like black under certain viewing angles, there's something strange going on here.

I think it's just the angle and the lightning condition. They are pretty shiny and not black at all. Even in the website they are silver so I think there is no black option. I can't reproduce what I can see in your picture tho

What is strange to me is that in the second image both sensors are black? One of Mine is red. Maybe the angle again?

    It makes sense yes.

Anyhow, this white watch face with these hands is much easier to read. Arguably.

I also can't reproduce with my own watch how clear your images above look like :)

    I don't know really.

I downloaded those 2 images above off the internet.

Here's how the sensors on mine look like:

Any chance there are fakes out there?

Yes the white faces are generally better readable. I have no idea if there are any fakes. I would not think so as it's not a pretty common watch

Yes. Another argument against the theory of fakes is that this watch is constructed of quality materials that most probably wouldn't be economical to replicate.
