I have no problem with the heart rate it records. ECG seems to be hit and miss tbh. It's very dependent on you keeping your arm steady and relaxed, so essentially I have the same problem. When I want to record an ECG I'm not relaxed, there is a reason I want to take one. But to be fair, the ECG on a watch will never replace a 30something point ECG since it's just one point recording.

Thanks for your comments.  My ECG seems ok, I think, but the heart rate is very wrong - on a gentle walk it showed as 170 and taking it manually it was about 85.

Habe die gleichen Probleme. Withings hat bereits im Januar Abhilfe mit einem Firmware Update versprochen, aber bis heute nicht geliefert!

I have the same problem. Filed in January 2021. Not yet resolved. When I go for a walk my heart rate is 160- 170 and when I fast run 10 km I have 175. I am also disappointed. Before, I used Steel HR and my heart rate was close to that of the Polar cardio belt. I am waiting for a solution.

I have a horrible feeling that I am going to be fighting to get my money back for a long time.  Went for a gentle stroll today and the scanwatch shows a peak of 170 beats! So very disappointed.  I found YouTube research done by The Quantified Scientist showing the watch is inaccurate at everything but steps. He has tested lots of watches and fitbits and did get Withings to respond to his findings but all they said was it would be sorted with the next software update.  As the YouTube was 6 months ago it obviously hasn’t  been sorted.  Sigh....

There have been other postings on this issue but no positive response from withings. I have tried the advice on the help page and ensured that the watch is worn 2cm above the wrist and tightened the watch strap. The only way to get consistent heart rate results when even carrying out mild exercise is to tighten the strap to the point of causing discomfort. It is a pity as the watch has many benefits but it is certainly not a sports or fitness watch.

I returned mine as it really seemed totally inaccurate .  Have bought an Apple watch now which  seems much more accurate.

Withings has not proven helpful in their customer service.  I complained that when I spent an hour on the treadmill at 3.5mph,incline 3.5, I burned less than 100 calories.  I experimented using Walking, Fitness and Other categories.  They told me there was nothing wrong with their Steel HR product, therefore no return.
