I'm looking forward to the update hitting my scale! One thing that would be nice for a gradual worldwide roll-out would be to immediately provide it to customers that manually check for the update.

I am disappointed to read only here that the new firmware is gradually rolled out. Since I have received the newsletter I am trying to pick up the new feature firmware 2104. My scale only reports back being up-to-date with firmware 18xx. I think marketing is overpromising something the user has to wait for a couple of weeks. Very disappointing.

I agree if you check manually it
Should move you to front of queue since you are showing more interest than most.

As a tech savvy health conscious consumer I purchased the Body Cardio for the PWV as the value in m/s seemed like a motivating metric to work with. If I understand correctly we now have an age approximation as a replacement. This is frankly disappointing especially considering its a 4 year range. I will definitely not be recommending this product to like minded friends until the PWV in m/s returns.

Just updated the firmware on a Nokia-branded scale in the US. Had to take a few consecutive measurements before it started counting the 5 it needed for PWV, then stepping on and off five times triggered the Vascular Age display.

Can someone from Withings elaborate a little on the information displayed? I understand that it is age-dependent, but for it to be meaningful, a table showing the ranges in m/s would be necessary.

For instance, it shows that I am at the very left edge of Normal, but I have no idea what is "Normal" for my age group, or is it a mean, or a median.

Also, I have no idea if that group includes healthy subjects, or people with significant CVD.

I assume the lack of m/s data is at least partially because of FDA regulations, but giving us the ranges and how "Normal" is defined would be invaluable.

Thank you for providing this feature again! It's really great!

Well, I got all excited that we'll start getting better responses here... :(

Anyway, I did a little digging, and here is a breakdown of what's "normal" for each age bracket:

    https://support.withings.com/hc/en-us/articles/220037468-Body-Cardio-What-are-normal-values-for-Pulse-Wave-Velocity-

My guess is that Withings uses a database of its users, so who knows if they are healthy or not. Maybe Withings can tell us what "normal" means in this context?

One issue with the data: I was experimenting by changing my date of birth, to see how it affects the scale's estimates and try to get an idea of m/s. It did have an effect, both up and down the age brackets.

The problem is, once I entered my correct year of birth again after a couple of days, it didn't go back to where it was when I first started using it. It's significantly off.

@Withings: Is there a way to reset it, or would it eventually go back to where it was? It has been close to a week and a half and it's still almost half a bar off from the first few days with the accurate age, so I am starting to think it off for good :(

Sadly, weighed in - all screen options selected including new vascular age.

All body composition measurements read by scale...except vascular age. Dreaded "X". I read that you need 5-readings to activate this feature so here's hoping that today's "X" counts as reading #1.

    Hi all.

Wanted to provide update from Canada.

I was using an original 2016 Body Cardio that worked well, until PWV for Body Composition was pulled from non-EU users and other technical issues. Found since 2020 had to fight with machine to enable all features. Then 2101 was released and I was excited re vascular age, but got the dreaded "X".

So I bought new Body Cardio (Canada), which I understand uses BIA to measure body composition and PWV for vascular age. After 5 easy successful weigh-ins I am happy to say I am loving my new fully functioning scale. All measurements reporting and captured by app.

Above, with my new Scan Watch and it's ability to track sleep, are offering me a complete health check snapshot each morning.

Hope you all are finding similar experiences.

I also have a Body Cardio 2016 and have NOT received the update.  I check every day, and the app says that the scale is up to date.

I hope I do NOT have to buy a new scale to get the vascular age feature.

    Hi All,

It's been almost 2 weeks, since the new feature has been advertised, however updated still not available in Germany.

Is this normal, or could there be something wrong?

Hi, when this new feature will be available in Estonia? I would expect soon as this two week roll-out window is "closing". Thanks!

I've never seen PVW on my Body Cardio in Canada, and that was the reason for my purchase.

Completely not satisfied because it's been years since the feature was re-enabled in Europe,
and North America still gets nothing. Hopefully this update brings it back ?

I wouldn't count on it, since it's May 17th, and I still don't have the new update ...

    Hi escape. Also from 🇨🇦

I understand the Body Cardio scale uses BIA to measure body composition and PWV for vascular age.

Having updated my 2016 model and running 2101 on the new scale, I can say all the features work well.

Hopefully you have the same experience when you receive the firmware update.

Looks like even though a PVW measurement is still not available in 2101 firmware, there's now a vascular age reading derived from PVW ...

I believe users in Europe have both showing up, instead of just one.

    Dear users,

Thank you for your new comments.

Please rest assured that you do not need to buy a new Body Cardio or be in a specific country in order for you to access the Vascular Age feature. You will get this functionality once your scale is part of the firmware deployment.

If you get an “X” result, please note that Vascular Age is not measured until you have weighed yourselves 5 times. The Latest Measurements heading under the Home tab in the Health Mate app will display the number of successful measurements taken, as well as how many remain.

Outside of Europe, the PWV is not available. However, by launching the Vascular Age feature, we give every Body Cardio user access to an interpretation of this metric and provide them an accurate, insightful, and comprehensive cardiovascular health biomarker. Vascular Age is replacing PWV as an innovative and accurate metric to get insight on your cardiovascular health.

Lastly, please know that the deployment of Vascular Age is still under progress. As we know some of you are very excited about this new feature, we have decided to make it possible for you to contact us so that we can prioritize your cases. Please fill the form to receive the firmware in priority by clicking here and we will release it to you as soon as possible.

    Have a great day,

Hello, I had problems with the scale after the new app was released. The scale started showing "setup" and was not connecting. I disassociated the scale for the app to try the device with a factory reset. But now the app sees the scale but as soon as I select the device, it loops back into device discovery mode without going to the next step. What should I do?

@shopsloth, I was suspecting and worried this might happen. Please let me know how it develops. I might add some dummy users to test this myself. If this is the case the Withings algorithm performance is questionable.

One issue with the data: I was experimenting by changing my date of birth, to see how it affects the scale's estimates and try to get an idea of m/s. It did have an effect, both up and down the age brackets.

Above support says in the home tab it will tell you how many successful measurements and how many remaining. Mine does not.  The heart rate never measures on the my scale I keep getting an X. I have emailed support and all they say it so read the forum. Does anyone know of a better scale?

I am using Body Cardio, Firmware is 2101.
Selected Dashboard, and selected Vascular age. Did as instructed on weighing with bare feet for 5 measurements to activate the feature. Nothing happens after doing so

sunny95828 - does scale give you any body composition measurements, or just weight? If the latter, I too had this issue. All settings were correct, scale was clean as instructed, recognized me as user etc etc. only fix I found was to lightly spray the soles
of my feet with room temperature water, immediately before stepping on scale. Once I did this trick, heart rate and all body composition measurements were read by scale. Maybe this will work for you too.

    Dear users,

Armelle here! To give you some insights about the Vascular Age feature, we developed it so you can now take advantage of a meaningful metric that is easy to understand. For that, we worked closely with Pr. Stéphane Laurent, Professor Emeritus of Pharmacology at Paris Descartes University.

Vascular age is based on the Withings PWV database, which is the biggest PWV database available to this day with more than 80 million measurements. This high number of measurements allowed us to study the evolution of PWV for a large population with various ages. Using this approach, we were able to define a classification and the algorithm behind vascular age. It is important to note that this was made possible respecting our strict policy of data privacy, as Withings guarantees the confidentiality of personal data and protects the privacy of all its users. I just wanted to make it clear here!

If you want to understand what your results mean, we’ve put together this article here for you. Keep in mind that Body Cardio users are generally in good health. Therefore, if you get an “optimal” result, it means that your vascular age is excellent. We decided to indicate the results in a 4 year range, because (as discussed with Pr. Laurent) it is not necessarily relevant to give a precise age.

@shopsloth Regarding your question on your year of birth and the vascular age feature, I would suggest that you contact us via email via https://within.gs/help and send us screenshots.

@sonaseth Could you please reset the scale by pressing and holding the button on the side of the scale for a full 20 seconds? Let me know if the issue persists after this. Also, please let me know if you are able to hear or feel the button 'click' when you press it.

@sunny95828 I’m sorry you’re not able to get your heart rate measurements. Can you tell me if you’ve already checked this article here, please?

@adrianpehbh Can you tell me if you have the heart rate screen enabled on your scale?

    Have a great day,
