Thanks for the feature request regarding Strava connectivity for running sessions and GPS data!

I came on here to find out if there is a way to export gps data for use with strava etc.

I've just ordered a Steel HR Sport and am a keen runner. I can see that Health mate records the map, pace etc. data so this should be possible to extract to a service like Strava / MapMyRun/Runkeeper? However seems can import runs from apps like Runkeeper, but can't export them? Export to Runkeeper is for weight only? Export to Apple Health, can export steps and weight but not the "route" GPS data?

Seems so close and yet so far away? Anyway, if I can't get my data in to services like Strava and then subsequently for analysis in products like RunAlyze then the watch will likely go back which would be a shame

This is becoming increasingly important to me.  The request is submitted on both forums (Withings and Strava).  Is there any expectation that this will be considered?

Same here. Would be a reason to keep my Withings move if I could export the data to strava

If you guys download the app called ifttt, I'm pretty certain you will find an applet that does what you need! If not, it's extremely easy to create your own routines, for example, I created one that automatically tweets my daily weight loss.

the app IFTT lets you do the job. you just need to spend some hours to make it work. There are already some applets done but not really good enough.

The data is possible to export from health mate, if you go to the web page. Not possible through the app.

Also i realized that you can only export the data as csv... which is not supported by strava.

I have created a quick program to transform the withings activity data to GPX, which is supported by Strava.
You can find the program here: https://github.com/vertongen/withings-gpx

@pieter.vertongen Thank you for sharing this.  It’s very generous.

@pieter.vertongen thanks for doing this. Unfortunately this needs a windows machine running 64bit which mine doesn’t, so can’t test. It should be Withings providing such as service as any runner or cyclist I know wants Strava integration so limits the market for Withings.

@greendave19 I agree that a native sync between withings and strava would be the best solution.

But meanwhile I have tried to build the windows installer for 32bit as well.
Could you give it a try? I have no 32bit machines anymore.

@pieter.ventongen thanks for producing a 32bit version  and it installed OK. However once logged in the there is nothing shown in the "Please choose the activity you want to convert to gpx" - perhaps it only works in a certain time range? My last activity was in February, I sent the watch back mainly as it was not able export by runs to Strava.

@greendave19 The program only looked for activities in the last 30 days. I have updated a new version v0.1.4 which can load activities until 2015. You can download it from the github URL: https://github.com/vertongen/withings-gpx
But beware, it will only show activities that contains GPS data, auto detected activities usually don't contain detailed GPS data.

@pieter.ventongen that works - good job! So I  now need to check if Withings have made two other important features that runners need. 1. to make sure have GPS lock before starting a run, otherwise get inaccurate results and 2. The ability to pause whilst waiting to say cross the road . If this is done then I'll buy a Withings again as loved the other features.

    No clue about 1.
But 2. is being done by Strava while importing. Strava detects when there is no movement anymore and 'auto pauses' the activity. I can see that if I compare the average speed between Withings and Strava for the same activity. Strava is higher.

    Hello Health Mate Users,

We are happy to announce that with the latest Health Mate app version, we have added Strava integration. If you have not already, please update the app and start syncing your data!

Yes, many. It is quite unreliable. A good mitigation would be a button on an activituy that would enable to rexport to strava. Any chance we get that?
