IMHO Turning on the clock screen will remove the classic look of the clock and turn it into an analogue mi band2

Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinions and preferences. That's why I requested this be an OPTION and not the default state.
I personally have the white version of the watch, and the blank black circle bums me out. I'd rather it be on at all times, and show the time or date or any other type of information the user wishes.
It will affect battery life, so maybe most people won't like this option, but for me it's worth it.

I agree to make it an option, or as wrist gesture

Always on would drain the battery too fast. It's not really a feature that I can see Withings putting on top of their to-do list especially as battery life is one of the major selling points.

I would also like to see this as an optional feature. Looking at the type of screen this should not drain the battery to fast. By even so, by implementing this as an option you give the user a choice.

Would love this feature as I had no idea that wasn't the case when buying the watch. All advertising shows the watch with the digital screen on. Very misleading. I have the white version as well and the black blank circle looks really odd. Not sure if I had bought the watch if I had known to be honest. I don't mind shorter battery life at all as I charge other devices on a daily basis as well. So even 5 days battery life with always on screen would be really good for me.

I have the black version and i kid you not, the black circle looks very odd too, like the watch have some sort of surgery's after effect. I decided to buy the watch believing that the screen has an always on option, doesn't feel like money well spent. i mean, 90% of its google search images have a screen on. Which look gorgeous. Damn

Just got my HR Steel Sport yesterday to maybe switching from an Apple Watch 3 (before I had an Samsung Galaxy Watch and different Fossils Smartwatches).

To be honest, I'm a little bit shocked that there is no OPTION to set the minidisplay to always on.

We hope withings teams can hear this information and make an option for always on display.

If have this option, this watch will become perfect with me.

Agreed. This would be a really nice feature.

Perhaps an option (so users can decide on battery vs feature) in the "Customize screens" section to be able to select data item(s), e.g. time, date, time and date, HR, Steps, etc, and have that data either:

    1. Always displayed. Or
    2. Depending on whether the motion detection in this watch is sophisticated enough could the data be displayed only when the watch recognizes the gesture of raising the arm to look at the watch?
